Potential over production play here.

Ehh normally I’d agree but he’s a top 60 guy with a nice shot. If his arms weren’t as skinny I feel like that wouldn’t be the assumption.

Rabby says he feels good about this recruitment as of this morning fwiw

Hoosier. He's 6'8 with a 6'11 wingspan. He's got a good shooting stroke and has a high upside that fits in DeVries system. I think the production vs potential argument is pretty stupid when talking about HS kids. There's so many factors at play when looking at stats as an evaluation point unless you know exactly what is happening in his games night in and night out.

Perfectly fine.  I like the upside, but I don’t like when recruits don’t dominate the HS landscape.  Braden Smith the the opposite effect.  Didn’t necessarily scout well but the production was consistently impressive. Xavier Booker is an example of the other.  When a really talented kid doesn’t dominant the HS landscape one must put in their scout, why?  Seems injuries are partly the cause. But not fully.  Maybe it’s something else. What i know is I temper my expectations in these cases and hope for the best.  Cases exist with success but seeing it at every level is a confidence booster.

- role on team, what coach wants

- other featured players on team, depth

- system, style of play

- current size, strength, conditioning

- league, depth of talent

etc

Don’t disagree but unless you have a retro-Montverde type roster, you should stand out. Even then you should stand out in ways.

He has the projectables.  Hes unselfish, it seems. As I said before potential is there.

My initial statement was production is not.  Teams know who their best players are. They get the ball more. They take more shots.  They become the focal point by default. All the best players have high production at that level.

He’s had some games with production but not consistency.

Anyway, as a likely future Hoosier, be great Kid.

Manhertz game scheduled for an approximate 2:30 tipoff vs Thomas Jefferson streamed on Sports Engine.  Reminder you have to sign up with Sports Engine, but it's a free site and it won't conflict with our noon game vs Nebraska.

74-32 romp with a running clock starting late in the 3rd Q.  Manhertz 13p,  2r,  1a,  in roughly 17 min. of court time.  Head coach subs using the platoon system in these kinds of games.  Manhertz and the starters played 4:30 in the 1st Q and sat out until 6 min. left in the 2nd.  In those 6 min., Manhertz scored 11 of his 13 pts. and didn't miss a shot.

Christ School (15-3) over Phoenix Montessori Acad (16-8) 79-46.  Manhertz played 17 min. - 2p,  5r,  6a,  4s,  3b,  2t.

He's not the featured scorer in the Christ School offense.  He'll be located in the left corner or they post him at the foul line and use him to distribute the ball from that point.

I guess I don’t have to say it again.

Flyin’ to the Hoop is a 1st rate event. One of my favorites. Didn’t go this year because I wanted to see Vaughn Karvala at the Quincy Shootout and couldn’t do both. But, man, if I’d known Manhertz was a thing when I was making plans I would have done Dayton.
