Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Shane Laflin of ESPN in a story on recruits who could outperform their HS ranking. No. 28 Addison Nyemchek, W, Indiana commit Nyemcheck checks every box for a player who will continue to improve in college. She's versatile and unselfish, which will serve her well at Indiana. This season, the 6-foot-1 wing is averaging 20.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 45% from 3 as she more consistently works in long-range shooting to complement her patented slashing game. College player comparison: Berry Wallace (Illinois), Gabriela Jaquez (UCLA), Saylor Poffenbarger (Maryland) All three impactful two-way wings shared common traits and trajectories coming out of high school. Nyemchek could slide into a similar role in Teri Moren's motion-style offense, as a three-level scorer with the switchability to guard any position other than center -- something Indiana wants to do more next season. TTT Posted February 3 Posted February 3 This is a good solid class. Verdict is out on how good. However, it’s going to take serious transfer portal help to seriously turn this program into championship contention if that’s the expectation. (one wildcard is Zoe Jackson….is she good or another project type player? And the other Z is neutralized because not being able to stay on the court. Both, Kentucky and Tennessee have 3 Mac All Americans in their 2026 classes…and in recent years IU before the current state of things won each of their games vs both programs. Quote

TTT Posted Saturday at 03:12 AM Posted Saturday at 03:12 AM IU signee Addy Nyemchek named New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year By Seth TowMarch 13, 2026WOMEN'S BASKETBALL 0 Comments IU women’s basketball signee Addy Nyemchek has been named New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year. Nyemchek becomes the fourth Gatorade Player of the Year on Indiana’s roster for 2026-27, joining Lenée Beaumont (Illinois, 2023), Maya Makalusky (Indiana, 2025), and Nevaeh Caffey (Missouri, 2025). The No. 28 recruit in the class of 2026 per ESPN, Nyemchek is also the first high school commit in Indiana program history to be selected to the McDonald’s All-American Game. The 6-foot-2 guard led Red Bank Catholic High to a state championship this season with a 30-2 record. Nyemchek, per MaxPreps, averaged 19.8 points, seven rebounds, four assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range. Nyemchek is one of the headliners of Indiana’s strong incoming freshman class, perhaps the best of Teri Moren’s tenure in Bloomington, going on 13 years next fall. ESPN ranks the Hoosiers’ class No. 8 in the country, with Nyemchek, combo guard GiGi Battle (No. 32), point guard Ashlinn James (No. 64) joining the program; center Zoe Jackson is also part of the class, but she enrolled early and joined IU in January.
