(2026) - C Arafan Diane to Houston

2026 Top-25 prospect Arafan Diane will take the following official visits in October, he told @LeagueRDY:

• Indiana: October 17th
• Houston: October 23rd

The 6-11 big man has already taken official visits to Kentucky, Arkansas and Virginia.

Feels like a pipedream on this one. Hearing UK initially and Houston a lot recently. But if you get a visit I suppose you have a chance.

Iowa United participating in Border League play in Vegas.  Andershock reports Drew Adams is there to watch.  Iowa United wins 63-61. Arafan Diane 18 points and five rebounds.

So is Arafan Dianne on campus? Do we have any chance at signing him? A lot going on for coach with the game tonight and both Diane and Karvala on campus and the Thompson decision looming.

Per Lasley, he was supposed to hit campus this afternoon. I would imagine he would be glaringly obvious behind the bench tonight. Assume Karvala will be there as well. Apparently Karvala had a very nice game yesterday against one of the OTE teams.

Will be really interested to hear how Diane reacts to watching that game last night. Tough to picture a 7’0” 280lb bully of a big watching that and picturing themselves playing that way. Obviously they’d run stuff for a kid like him, but still. Karvala, on the other hand, you show a 6’7” athlete that stuff and it’s where do I sign?

Maybe something, maybe nothing: Houston is a finalist for 21yo G-League Center Abdullah Ahmed. Spent the last 2 years playing for the Knicks’ affiliate. Is still waiting for eligibility clearance, but, c’mon. Would assume Houston wouldn’t take both him and Diane.

CDD and Kenny visited him again today, right before his Houston visit. Rabby said we matter now. We’ll see how it goes going against Houston and Arkansas. Gotta assume we have some money to spare with AT going else where.

No idea if it's accurate, but saw a rumor posted that Houston is offering 1M, up to 1.5M, and IU is currently at just under 2M. Haven't seen anything about what Arkansas or others are offering.

I think they have Brazile and Ewin, who’ve got to both be seniors by now, and seem to vaguely remember something about a Eurokid. So I imagine they’ll have minutes.

Ahmed’s now down to Houston and BYU and is visiting Houston 11/1. Since that’s after Diane’s visit I would assume a Ahmed cancellation would be a bad sign for IU and an honored visit would encouraging.
