Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 8, 2025 Posted February 8, 2025 Hopefully we saved up a few three pointers for tomorrow's game against Minny (18-6) (6-6) and 12-2 at home. Gopherettes average 75 ppg with a +17 scoring margin. They shoot 32% on 3s. They have a +5 rebounding margin. They have 5 women averaging double figures. Jules was out with a foot injury of some type for the Rutgers game and no idea what her status is for this game. Radio Live Stats GloryDays and mamasa 2 Quote
TTT Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 See if IU Ladies are going to hit their stride starting with this game going down the stretch…a characteristic of T. Moren IU teams especially a few years ago. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Ugh -- another BIG-plus game. Means I can't watch. Minnesota has been terrible over the past few years, but seems much improved now. They kinda did what our men's team did -- hired a program legend who probably had no business getting the job (Whalen). This will be a tough one. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

Wish they would show more of the women's games on TV instead of sticking them on just another subscription service only for people to cancel once you no longer need it. TTT Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 L and M largely cost lead and gave it to Minny going into half. However, no one is making shots. And Minny is making things difficult with their defense. Quote
TheWatShot Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 29-27 Minnesota at the half. Stop me if you haven't heard this one before, but we had a good first quarter and followed it up with a bad second. Quote
NatHillIV Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Watched every second. We are very lucky to be down ONLY 2. With the exception of one quick 11-2 IU run, our offense has been stuck in the mud. Lots of bricks going up. Several shots went around the rim several times and somehow came out. Garzon, Parrish, and Meister are 1 for 14 combined. Surely we can start moving the ball and making some shots. mamasa 1 Quote

If you saw the third quarter the other night, you'd find it impossible to believe this team could have 4-5 minute scoring droughts every game, but they do. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 We've not been a good rebounding team at all this year but geez, Minny had 22 with 7 being offensive. We had just 14 total. Ciezki - 8 points, 2 assists Moore-McNeil - 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists Striplin - 7 points, 2 assists Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 In the first half, Shay reached the 1,000 career point mark. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 Meister needs her eyes examined! Quote
TTT Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Now, the whole team is playing like Lilly did in first half where IU lost 4 point lead. Now, this game has turned into a toothache for IU Ladies. Minny just going to out physical IU that’s stuck in the mud. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 Hoosiers trail 50-41 after 3 and I'm not sure they have it in them today for a 4th Q comeback. Minny now with a +16 rebounding edge and that's just inexcusable. Quote
TheWatShot Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Hard to believe this is going so poorly when we only have 3 turnovers. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 Wednesday night we're in Ann Arbor to face the Wolverines (16-7) (7-5) and 10-2 at home and I'm not optimistic. Quote
TTT Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 At start of game shots were rimming out. As game went on shots were falling short. Depending on outside shots if fall = win. If they miss = loss. If that’s almost all you got… equals 50% wins/losses. Quote
TTT Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 IU Ladies looking very tired and no running up and down the floor. Minnesota looks like they physically took care of business. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 Had it it not been for Woody's 'retirement' announcement IU basketball laid a big egg this weekend. Women lose 66-56 and overall a pretty poor outing. Lilly has been such a huge disappointment. 1 rebound today. 6'3" and she got 1 rebound and then was 0-5 FG. And the loss isn't all on Lilly today. The team was just 38% FG and let Minny totally dominate the boards 43-25. That's pathetic. OK, I'm done with my rant. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Yeah, down yeah for the ladies. Not terrible but just not that great either. Seems pretty good odds to get into the tournament but Moren will have some things to figure out in the off-season. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote
