A bit surprised we haven’t been linked to Dequan Finn. Former MAC player of the year, the staff has had success with mobile QBs before. He visited Michigan recently.

I don't think it's clear that he will even have eligibility.  He applied for a medical hardship waiver.  He was at Toledo for five seasons and then Baylor for one....even with a redshirt season and the extra COVID year, he's used up his four years.  He only threw 12 passes in 2019 and 1 in 2020 but I really doubt that he is going to be granted a seventh year.

Waiver has already been granted according to Michigan writers. Doubt he could’ve officially entered the portal without it.

He'll probably get another year. Redshirt year, COVID year, then 3 seasons of double digit games followed by a 3 game injury year. There have been many similar cases I've seen get another year so I expect he will also.

Is this the more important of the 2 transfer windows in terms of talent? It seems like most of the good players would transfer now and the spring would be mainly those who probably didn't perform in spring practice. Is that the case or are they about the same in terms of talent in the portal?

HB Jaden Nixon (Western Michigan) enters.  Played at Oklahoma State for three years, totaling 110 carries for 500 yards.  Last year at Western Michigan carried the ball 143 times for 919 yards (6.4 ypc) and 12 TDs.

Tennessee safety Christain Harrison enters.  Part time player with Vols, totalled 20 tackles last year.  Two years eligibility left.

Based on last year, I don’t think we had a high success rate of transfers AFTER spring ball playing significant mins this season and some transferred out, I believe.

Kids who participating in bowl games get some time to enter the portal. So there could be some impactful players available. On the other hand we don't need as much as we did last year.

West and Ponds were huge additions in the spring, and I'm pretty sure Tucker was a spring guy too. Obviously 2 of those guys were JMU additions so there was an established connection. It'll be interesting to see how he does in the portal now that he doesn't have his former school to pull a bunch from.

On 3 now has Indiana at 79% for Mendoza to IU, Dasan coming back to the BIG with Nebraska

On3 predictor is garbage. I hope we land Mendoza but I'm not going to rely on them to tell me if it's likely or not.
