That is a great draw for IU. We avoid all of the teams with quick little guards that have created perimeter blow-by problems for us and do well at getting out to shooters.; MSU, Illinois, even Purdud, and we match up much better with Iowa than OSU. 

Love a healthy IU team (fingers crossed) in this bracket.

This hasn't been reported as such on the Big Ten availability reports, but this report says Minnesota WBB guard Mara Braun's foot injury was season ending; the Gophers have lost eight of nine since her injury.

From tonight's radio show:  Teri Moren said on B97 Radio that Mackenzie Holmes and Lilly Meister felt better today with the trainers and there was optimistic news, but only time will tell for their availability later this week in Minneapolis.

Saw that Iowa's Molly Davis was injured yesterday and didn't return. She only averages 6 ppg and scored only 3 in our last matchup, but had 18 when we played them at Iowa.

Just saw an article that stated she came out in a wheel chair near the end of the game.  Hoping for her that it is not as bad as the wheel makes it sound.

They don’t have that much guard depth and she’s a good open shooter.

Iowa WBB coach Lisa Bluder says that the knee injury sustained by redshirt senior guard Molly Davis yesterday "is not season ending . . . we look forward to her return at some point during the postseason"

Moren on Holmes and Meister: “Still don’t know if they’ll be available Friday night. They’re day-to-day right now. They’re in rehab.” “Lilly had quite a sprained ankle and Mackenzie is rehabbing their knee.” Neither were in practice today or yesterday.

Another tweeter quoted CTM:   Mack has a "knee cap that wants to shift in and out",

Moren added that if neither are available or if they're limited, Yarden Garzon would shift over to the 5, and they would play "small-ball." Garzon is 6-3, same as Holmes and Meister, Moren said, and she has some experience playing center from last year.

This injury now makes more sense as it can be caused by contact.   If Mack plays, then she will need to be in a brace that stabilizes the kneecap (patella) but will also support her other knee issue.

If you listen to the presser at 2:25, it sounds like the kneecap is the issue and not anything else going on but who knows for sure:

This year there is a lot more specific information regarding injury issues than last year.  Definitely barriers.

Last year was a great year that ended in a Big Ten tournament and March Madness downer.

In yesterday's second game, Minnesota defeated Ruger 77-69 so Minny will play Michigan to determine who we play on Friday.

Big Ten tournament hope against hope….IU will either be without one two of its top 7 players or very handicapped to theist limitations.  And one is an all American.  Reasonable chance to overcome those barriers/obstacles in game one.  If IU Ladies get past game one…the question is beyond game one.  It was going to be a tall order even at full strength.

Today's first game, Maryland defeated Illinois 75-65 and will play Ohio State on Friday.
