By the way, one of the super-talents that a recruit and his family can have is to recognize great program leadership.

Fernando Mendoza and family are hyper-smart and focused, and did that with Cig. Didn't take Chase Branham long to figure it out - and that's without a real sense of what his 2027 NIL money will look like. Latrell Allmond? Fantastic high school player who did not figure this out or didn't think it applied to Devries.

If Anthony Thompson and his people see Devries and crew as the right place as long as money is comparable? Then that's the kid we want.

And if Branham and maybe Thompson are wrong and Devries will not be a great program leader? Then we are screwed (again), regardless of who is on the roster.

Top-100 prospect SF Jalyn Collingwood, announces his commitment at 5:30pm ET on the @CBSSportsCBB  channel.   O$U is one of his 3 finalists and I've read that should he pick the Bucknuts, that could be in our favor.

Yep it is what it is.  He took over a mid tier  (on the court results) B1G program working on its 4 coach in 10 years that fired the previous 3 for on court results.   He has been coach for 7 months and is getting hammered by some for lack of winning games when he hasn’t even coached a game yet and getting hammered for recruiting results in 7 months when his first full recruiting cycle hasn’t even happened yet.    It is what it is some people are more worried about optics then actual results.   Program is going to have to grind to get viewed as a top player again in college basketball.   Until then the optics of this program will be of a program that has lost 9 out of its last 11 to a program like Rutgers

Definitely a shot but Ohio State is going to fight for the hometown kid.   Sounds like they are offering 3 mil now according to Trilly.  Although Tiptons headline said IU was trending yesterday if you read the article he basically said it’s a coin flip

Even if we offer 2mm how do you land the hometown kid while coming up a million short? Could we, do we want to, pay 3mm? If that $$$ is correct I doubt we land him.

As we know the shoe companies often play such a big role with these top players.  Is this a situation where Adidas should be stepping in to help us pretty substantially on the money front?  I'm honestly not sure what we should be expecting from our apparel partner in a situation like this.
