It just means that it wasn't in as bad of a state as it seemed and that Woodson clears the very low bar of being a better coach than Miller. Glad to help you understand.

Comparing anything about Woodson's situation at IU to Dusty May's situation at Florida Atlantic is hilarious. Even for a hardcore Woody stan, I cannot believe you posted that with a straight face.

May won that game and went to Final 4.   Woody won that game and another game against Illinois to barely make the tourney as the second to last team in and got blasted in the first  round by St Mary’s

The good old what if argument.  Woody is not having a miracle second half comeback against Michigan in the B1G tourney away from missing the tourney 2 out of his 3 years.  These are dumb arguments.  Results are results. May won that game and went to Final 4.   Woody won that game and another game against Illinois to barely make the tourney as the second to last team in and got blasted in the first  round by St Mary’s

Weak. You can do this for every coach. Brad Stevens caught some incredible breaks early in his two title game runs at Butler.

The results are the results, and May's teams have been better than Woodson's for the last 2.5 seasons running. Despite May having 10X less resources at FAU.

They both are very bad coaches in their own way!   I would call it a toss up but in Miller’s defense, Woodson has had the transfer portal and NIL bail him out or Miller would have been outshining him

What many people, especially Woodson’s true fans, don’t understand is winning is the result of a process.  It’s why a guy like Sig can go from place to place and win — just move the process from one location to another.  Woodson doesn’t have a process — recruiting is hap hazard at best, training (cliff marshal) is the same as the last guy, offense/defense schemes are weak, player development is hit or miss, etc.  If sound processes were in place, the single season results wouldn’t matter - you could overlook the down year as he reloads.  Wins would take care of themselves.
