Yep. I remember that. South Carolina trailed at the end of a quarter only four times that season in 34 games -- three of those quarters were against us. Quote

GoHoosiers1996 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) Wow, we have a special team! Coach Moren has crafted a team and is coaching at the level of our beloved RMK. South Carolina is the real deal and probably the best team in the country; however, we are also an incredible team. I would love to see us play SC in the finals. I believe that CTM and staff will have our team prepared to win, and our players will deliver. It will take a lot to get to the final game, but I think we can do it. Go Hoosiers! And defense and if 3 balls fall from the sky and run the 6’7”? girl/s (not just SC but a couple others as well when they are in and low turnovers and turnover opponent/s and neutralize rebounding and foul problems and anything can happen. And who gets there? SC will lose a game if not this year…they will lose one day. Remember the last second shot ND national championship defeats UCONN. Has anyone anywhere did anymore than Mac Dog for her or his (including men) team? (Offensively and Defensively). The T. Moren system! Quote

LamarCheeks Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Just realized this -- after our game with the PUs on Sunday, we will have played three games in seven days. That's a pretty rugged stretch. Have no doubt we'll win Sunday, but wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't match the beatdown we gave 'em in Mackey -- even with the sellout crowd and on Senior Day. I would imagine the ladies are getting a little fatigued. Just glad we get a decent break before going to Iowa. We'll need it. Quote
JerryYeagley23 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Although I actually think we could be a matchup nightmare for SC because they play too bigs that don’t like to defend outside the paint and we have shooters at 4 positions, I definitely don’t think there would be any shame losing to them in a national championship game. That being said, can someone help me understand what I’ve seen in the mock brackets? We are currently the consensus second best #1 seed. But in the brackets that puts us in the Greenville 2 region. SC is the number one overall seed in the Greenville 1 region. Would that mean we’d be set up to play them in the final four if seeds hold?? I understand wanting to keep teams closer to home and that being bette than going out West, but as the overall second best seed that would seem kind of unfair to have to face SC before the title game. I believe the two Greenville brackets are on opposite sides at the Final Four, as are the Seattle brackets -- meaning Greenville 1 plays Seattle 4 and Greenville 2 plays Seattle 3 in the national semifinals. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/30423107/ncaa-women-bracketology-2023-women-college-basketball-projections Chris007, JerryYeagley23 and Stuhoo 2 1 Quote

TheWatShot Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I know it doesn't matter, but I can't figure out why we can't seem to get any higher than #5 in the NET rankings. How many highly ranked teams do we need to run out of the gym to be above 4-loss UConn or 3-loss Stanford? J34 1 Quote

The net is a weird system but the difference most likely comes down to UConn has not played a team that is in Quad 4 of the Net while we have two games in Quad 4. Outside of that, we are pretty much equal on strength of wins. Losses, like a close loss to SC, also improves their Net. Thus, why it is weird. Quote
Todd41 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 LSU's Net really does not make sense to me at all other than that they have been rewarded from blowing out bad teams. Another flaw in the Net. LIHoosier and JerryYeagley23 2 Quote
