Purdue absolutely sucked too. Minny was well below avg. ILL was avg.

Mallory had a little above avg results against really poor schedules is the reality of that era.

Sweet... So under Allen other B1G teams have been better? The 6-2 season we couldn't have gotten luckier. Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin all ended up being bad teams or mediocre at best. The year before, didn't beat anyone with a winning record and got stomped on by a couple teams. We've still lost all of the big games. Difference is, Allen acts like a fool and coaches like a fool.

Yeah, but he doesn't?

And yeah, we have ranked in the Top 15 in SOS for AWHILE and I'm pretty sure, currently, are projected to play the toughest schedule in the country.... pretty clearly those schedules Mallory coached against don't come close to those.

So now not only doesn't CTA have to win 6 games, he has to beat GOOD teams. This all seems VERY realistic for an IUFB coach. smh

Why do you keep defending this guy.  Who are you, Zach Ostermann?

For a "facts" guy, why did he keep Darren Hiller around until the middle of last season when the statistics were highly unfavorable for his job?

That's been established. But still, the talent or lack of... was more of an issue than Hiller/Dexter not being ready.

@btownqb, is your stance that since IU has historically sucked we should be satisfied with Tom Allen as coach? He's not a good coach but that is what IU should be fine with since they haven't had success in the past. That seems to be what you're saying.

If that is the case, why bother even having a football program? Maybe the 100 fans that go to games should just stop going.

That's sort of the argument I've heard from Allen supporters.  That because we've always sucked, we should be grateful for what we have.

Honestly, IU football should be at my funeral so they could let me down one last time.
