Brown basically knocked Team Takeover( Prince Moody, Jordan Smith) out of Peach Jam by dropping like 35 on them and there was nothing they could do with that kid. He straight abused Smith. Played for Team Durant with Oladotun.

USA Basketball announced today the athletes expected to participate in the 2025 USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp from Oct. 10-12 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Who do we realistically have a chance with and what will be the class size?

I would say Almond, Taylor, County and Thompson are all realistic

I think Junior County is trending towards UConn or Maryland. We’re probably down to Almond, Taylor, and Thompson as our best bets to fill our recruiting class.

Imagine you’re right. Those are certainly the 3 they’ve invested the most effort in. It does seem like they want a PG in the ‘26 class, but when I watch Moody I absolutely think he’s eventually a full-time PG. But he’s not playing 20 mins next year as a primary. Suppose they could try to get in on a kid  like Bivins, but would think at this point they’ll wait until spring and see what shakes out.

Moody + Allmond (6'8 PF #26 overall in 247 composite), Taylor (7'+ C #23 overall), and Thompson (6'8 SF #8 overall) would be a pretty gosh darn impressive class if you can pair them with a stud transfer PG and maybe another solid backcourt contributor

That would be amazing for sure! But also seems like the absolute (very high) ceiling. I think Allmond’s last visit is local for him at UVa on the 26th. I haven’t seen anything about where we stand with him, but he would be a big get for sure. Taylor will be a competitive recruit to get and we’re bumping up against MSU, UK, and KU — looks like he has all three of those visits scheduled for the subsequent three weeks. I think On3 is saying Thompson is likely down to IU and Ohio St.

It will be interesting to see how this all breaks for the 2026 class, but the new staff obviously had a later start than rivals for 2026 recruits and I think putting together some good stuff this season will help in the portal in the spring and 2027 which it seems we’re off the a great start already.

Agree. Was already fan of Thompson and of Taylor’s talent, but watched Allmond’s state semi-final and final game from last year the other night and his team was really good and beat the mess out of both those teams, but he was very impressive. He’s got everything you want. Prototype modern 4. Already knew that, but what was eye-opening was that his school played at a crazy fast pace, pressed all game and ran off makes or misses, and that kid ran hard and really moved his feet well laterally pressuring. That kid will hit a campus next year ready to play. Hope it’s this one.

Plus an outside shot at Miikka Murrinaian (sp?). 

Miikka, Allmond, Thompson, Taylor are all great candidates.  
 

I think we end up getting 2 of the 4. Or I hope.  I think it’s TP time for our PG next year.

Would be exceptional to land one of Allmond or Thompson and either Taylor or Diane. It seems some people are cooling on Thompson and Houston has a (albeit weak) crystal ball for Diane, so perhaps it’s Allmond and Taylor we should be focusing on. Any ideas how close Allmond and Taylor are to decision time and where we might stand with them? It sounds like others on this board have said Drew Adams was in Vegas watching Allmond along with a bevy of other schools.

I feel pretty good about Allmond.  Decent on Taylor, but the longer things go post visit, less and less good each day.  Diane is a wildcard.  Not confident but we get a visit.  Hopeful. I don’t think Thompson and Allmond are either/or.  Although that might be the best we can hope for. 
 

Allmond seems like a kid that’s already ranked high, that will rise some.
