Well, Brown has an Adidas NIL deal and every other school he has visited or has scheduled a visit to are Nike schools. So, ya gotta feel at least a little good.

well that certainly helps that he's scored an Adidas NIL deal, gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I read where UL is after him and they are an Adidas school as well.

I have to believe with how the current landscape of both IU and UL are for this upcoming season, IU would be much more appealing.  Could be a starting PG opportunity here at IU next year if Rice takes off this year and gets a 1st rd tag

Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns
National top-10 prospect 5-star point guard Mikel Brown Jr. (@MikelBrownJr1) of @DMEAcademyMBB makes his Indiana official visit this weekend.

I think this only materializes if Rice or Carlyle project to leave.

I think the staff thinks it’s possible but I hope we can eventually stack youth versus the Calipari Kentucky model.

I would bet some money on Rice getting a 1st rd tag and leaving.

Brother I've said it all along. Of everyone that tests the process next draft, everyone on our team, he will far and away score higher across the board than anyone else we have. He's a legit 6'3", he's a play maker. He'll be special this year and there will be alot of Haliburton comparisons. Traore from France and probably Harper will be the only pgs ahead of him. Carlyle at 6'0" barefoot needs a year of full-time pg, and a softer 2026 draft to go where wants to go. JMO

So will Brown come here to play behind Carlyle?

You may be off on Carlyle’s height. I don’t remember any camp measurements for him but I seem to recall Stuhoo meeting him on his official and saying he was pretty close to 6’3”. And you’re probably right that if he’s looking to develop his facilitation skills another year might make some sense. But I’m not sure he sees himself that way, though he is a capable playmaker, and I think the League will view him as a microwave scorer. So if he has the year he’s capable of I imagine he would go.

I’m 6’0 without shoes. So 6’1.5” in basketball player measurements. Stood next to Carlyle and he’s taller than me.

Shots from the visit  The kid with the Adidas NIL deal managing to get the emblem prominently into the shot. He knows how to do this.

The caption on the tweet is certainly intriguing.

He's noticeably shorter than Rice. If you you tell me Rice is 6'5 I'm super excited.

I says he wants to see how indiana let's their guards play this year. Ole Miss has been believed to be the leader here forever but I think we have a shot. After Sisley locked him up on multiple occasions this summer I'm not for sure where I'm at on him.

^^This^^

When Brown played Indiana Elite, Sisley held him to 4-22 shooting and generally did an outstanding job on him. Not a ultimately deciding factor, but that kind of thing can stick with Brown and be a real positive in thinking that Sisley would make an excellent teammate.

Yep, hoping for a pleasant surprise when he gets on campus, a year with montverde can do crazy things to his development.

Season opener.

2025 DME Academy (FL) G Mikel Brown Jr (@MikelBrownJr1): 19 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST in a win over Potter's House

Potter’s House played Montverde preseason last year and lost by something like 70 and that was with a running clock in the 2nd half. I imagine those stats are him playing something like a half.
