On the Don Bosco calendar and on the MaxPreps calendar this would be a regularly scheduled season game but it looks more like a scrimmage.  The teams played a total of 5 8-minute quarters.  Quarters 1 and 2 were played with starters; quarter 3 was all subs; quarter 4 back to starters and quarter 5 was pretty much anything goes.  The score was re-set to zero at the start of each quarter.  There were 3 refs on-site but only 2 worked each quarter.  Harper is #2 in the dark uniform.

Quarters 1 and 2 were pretty ragged.  Harper shot 5-13 FG; 1-5 on 3s; 0-1 FT; 1r; 1a; 4s.  Q2 starts at the 34:00 mark and the first 4 minutes of Q2 featured a couple of WWE near worthy body slams and a near bout of fisticuffs.  Quarter 4 starts at 1:13 and Harper was a completely different player.  He played the entire 4th Q and 2 min. of Q5.  In  that 10 min. he scored 14 pts. going 7-7 FG; 4r; 2a; 1s.  He's not at all reluctant to  shoot and very aggressive at driving the lane and had a couple of really nice drives for scores.  Unless you're just really desperate for entertainment, just watch that 10 min. span.

Don Bosco Prep 62-53 win over DePaul Catholic.  I scored Harper with 29p; 2r; 3a; 0s; 1b; 1t.     8-16 FG; 2-7 on 3s; 11-12 FT.

He scored his points in a variety of manners and does a good job of drawing fouls.  At times he looks like he's sleepwalking on the court and almost disinterested but it's deceptive.  He's got a quick first step and can accelerate when necessary.

Watching it right now. Man, the game comes easily to that kid. Definitely some James Harden to him,  unfortunately on both ends. Side note: spent the 1st half going back and forth over whether the DePaul Catholic floor is hideous or awesome. Finally landed on awesome.

Don Bosco Prep vs Camden (NJ) and D.  J. Wagner.  Steve Pikiell and 2 assistants watching.

DBP led 39-31 at the half.  Harper game high 16p.  But the second half was all Camden and it takes an 83-68 win.  DBP went scoreless in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd Q and never recovered.  Harper finished with 36p and thrives on contact.

Really encourage you to watch this game even if you only watch the first or second half and notice how relentless Harper is at attacking the basket.  In addition to 36p, I scored him with 6r; 5a; 0s; 1b; 1t.

Do we have a good chance with him. We need some relentless players

Hard to tell. Unlikely. Duke is in full court press. Rutgers whom he has familiarity to is playing better than us and we appear in freefall.

Staff might look good in 24-25 from an offer standpoint, but until pen to paper, expect anything.

Staff looks good for the amount of talent that has actually been on campus for officials not just offers.   I can’t remember a time ever when IU had that many high level recruits on campus.    Got to land some of those studs but the staff is all in on the top level talent in 24 and 25

Yep, as far as visits go, I agree. As far as commits, we will see. How competitive is our Nil? Enough to counter-balance the on court efforts and results? Can Woody maintain his, I’m a pro coach mentality/stature/appeal? It hasn’t worked for other NBA guys.

At this point I don’t care, I don’t know what Woody wins big with. I’m along for the ride.

Plus it’s 24 and 25, and this season is teetering and next season needs some true miracles.
