Time for Penix to never see the field again. I like the guy but he’s clearly just not the same player anymore.

Truth is last year, despite our success, Penix was incredibly inaccurate.  56% accuracy in today's game isn't going to get it done.  If Maryland had any kind of team last year, they kill us when he goes 6 of 19.

IU needs to shake off that terrible targeting call and ejection of McFadden.  DL needs to get back to doing what they were in the first 20 minutes.  I don't know what to say about Pen but he needs a talking to. ..and some protection.  OC needs to call short passes until our runs start to work again.  And each time we get down within the 20 get some points.  This thing can go south pretty quickly.  And if you can do it, I sure want to see that targeting hit again...I can't see it...bogus call.

He doesn’t need protection.  His two interceptions happened when he had plenty of time in the pocket.

He was under extreme pressure and got hit during the last INT.

The first INT, I'm pretty sure his arm was hit on the throw (the announcer said as well, but they didn't show the replay).

Not saying he's an accurate QB, just being real though...

Yeah, there was pressure on both.  The issue is o his decision to throw into coverage when he's pressured that's the issue.  Rolling him out is meant to avoid pressure.  Makes the throws harder, but makes hopefully doesn't make him make snap decisions.

Agreed.

I'd roll him all game to be honest....

Don’t know what to tell ya. If you can’t handle that type of pressure (which is normal in the top conferences) then you need to stop being quarterback. Especially if your that accurate.

Well that was a pathetic ending to the half. Penix has to stop being so stupid with the ball. Offensive play calls have to be aggressive. Offensive line has to keep getting push. Losing McFadden is huge but the defense can't just quit with him out. I don't think Allen is the answer as the backup by any means. Need some speed in McFaddens spot.
