He wanted the Evansville job but he asked for a little too much. I think he also wanted the IUPUI job or UINDY job but finished 2nd. You have to understand he is a very private person.

I really wish he would have gotten the Evansville job so we have a better idea of what he is as a coach. Even if he would have been mediocre there it is still experience that he could bring to the table. If he knocked it out of the park, well then this is a no brainer.

That would be a great situation IMO.  Much better than him just being the head coach.

I don't want CC as the HC, but would love to have him on the staff, if for no other reason then to teach that sweet 10-12 ft baseline jumper and shove it right up analytics @$$.

I kinda thought this was in regards to Matta , it was like the next day the whole he was offered the job but failed physical came out . I may be totally wrong

Just curious--why? Kendrick and Lander are wired in to Evansville. Not sure what their Matta connection could/would be.

But CC hadn’t even been contacted by IU at that point for an interview.

Cue the "back in my day"! He's right. The Big Ten was not as deep then, but the top teams were better than recent vintages. Not really close, IMO.
