Coaching is like Teaching. It’s a skill that encompasses the entire human being. Hard to be a fantastic teacher if your personality sucks.  
 

I hope we hire someone with basic interpersonal skills who’s also more exciting than a plain baked potato. 

This times 100000!!! Also if you can't connect with people or build relationships, you are SOL as a teacher/coach. I too agree this is what sunk Archie Miller.

When Rabby would talk about Braden Smith, he would talk about his defensive inefficiencies as a reason he might not be a top power conference recruit. I think Rabby is projecting his own change in thought onto everyone else.

What decision-maker is he close to? Dolson? I don't think he is telling people who he is hiring. There are 4 people I know of who are putting up the money for the next coach. I have talked to people close to 3 of the 4. They all are sticking by Brad for now. The least of what they have said is he hasn't said no. So I'm just not sure who he is talking about. I believe someone is telling him that, I was told the HC guys were saying he wasn't coming but I don't know that. I'm happy to say he's not coming but I just haven't been told that. I think we have a lot of good choices this time so I'm not worried. Me personally wouldn't take Dusty off the table yet

I am guessing ferguson is not one of those putting up money!!

While I think Woodson is a terrible coach, that hire was better. He checked off “former player”, dealt with NBA which could bode well for the NIL era, got us to the tourney, got talent to IU. You can make an argument that Woodson could do better at IU vs Archie if you were interviewing both at the same time

Uh, no way. 

I mean, I'm still amazed that Archie passed the interview. In theory, he might have passed the Xs and Os test from his time at Dayton - although he seemed to massively fail that at IU. But, I can give Glass a pass on that. 

What I can't give Glass a pass on is Archie's personality. He definitely didn't have the personality to run a big-time program. He should have seen that in the interview (and when doing the background check). I've done a ton of executive interviews in my life and I couldn't believe that Archie got hired in year 1. He just didn't seem like a guy who was comfortable in the job. That is on Glass.

With that all being said, Woodson had zero college experience. Zero. Zilch. Nada. And he hadn't even been a head coach at ANY level for a number of years. And he was nearing retirement age. 

He had no business being hired. At all. He was a horrible hire for any number of reasons. It was so obvious from the beginning that he was going to be a failure. The fact that his team made it to the tournament twice is a reflection on just how good TJD really was on the college level.

He didn't specifically say Dolson but he said "I know the person making the decisions at Indiana. I speak, personally, to the very,very select few people who help make the engines go at Indiana. It isn't my opinion. It is a factual statement: Brad Stevens is not going to be the next coach at Indiana. If you think that or you heard that or holding onto it. You are Incorrect. You are being lied to."
 
That was the exact quote he said, plus a little more just saying the same thing a different way basically.  

He most likely won't be and neither will may. We missed our chance on may. Go get Drew or Cronin. I'd say beard but I don't want to start that discussion back up.

That whole thread today was weird. He just randomly throws out a Danny Hurley quote and says something to the effect of "offense wins championships" and started a big debate, and then replied to like 15 different comments, further fueling the discussion.

Just thought it was really funny. His phones must be dead silent today.
