Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 We may have an AAU season, but still no idea if coaches will be allowed to attend. Nicole Auerbach @NicoleAuerbach The NCAA’s Division I Council met today and had conversations about planning for a return to recruiting when the dead period ends on May 31, but the group did not vote on a specific recruiting calendar/format. I live in Westfield a mile or 2 away. Went to EYBL twice but not been to UAA. Quote

Well it is a lot of trouble and pretty damn impertinent of you to even ask! Since I started keep track of the AAU stats several years ago, the UAA has always been the bottom of the totem pole. Right now, I'm only aware of 3 with some degree of IU interest and none of the 3 have an offer. Xavier Booker, Jalen Hooks and Jaden Schutt. There are likely others but their names just haven't surfaced. Historically, the EYBL (Nike) is by far the top dog on the AAU shoe circuit with IU targets. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 20, 2021 Author Posted May 20, 2021 NCAA approves July evaluation periods: July 8-11weekends. July 16-18 July 23-25 Presumably this will solidify the EYBL and Adidas circuits scheduling events for these same weekends as UAA has already announced. HoosierAloha 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 28, 2021 Author Posted May 28, 2021 EYBL will hold its Peach Jam event July 13-25, in North Augusta, SC. Sounds like this will be the only official EYBL event held this summer and that all teams will be allowed to participate. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 25, 2021 Author Posted June 25, 2021 Month of July is fast approaching and all 3 shoe circuits have events on the calendar so here's a refresher for everyone. EYBL - Peach Jam: July 13-25. This is the only EYBL event scheduled but has a 12-day run. Adidas: July 8-11 and July 16-18 UAA: July 8-11; July 16-18 and July 23-25. For recruiting purposes the dates above all fall under NCAA approved evaluation periods which means coaches can watch the games in person but cannot have any direct contact with the prospect at the event. July 1-5 and July 26-31 are quiet periods which means no in-person off-campus contacts. If the visit is made to our campus, in-person contact is permitted. July 6-7; 12-15; and 19-22 are dead periods meaning no in-person on-campus or off-campus contacts. Also, both official and unofficial visits are prohibited. choosierred1, Stromboli and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 BTB we have a problem but hopefully only a temporary one. Yesterday Adidas and Under Armour kicked off their big summer events but have yet to post any detailed box score info for yesterday's games as they have in years past. Links on both sites are currently only reporting final scores and nothing more. I'll continue to monitor the sites and hope for the best. Until then, I'll post what snippets of info I do see. I posted this yesterday in Cupps' thread from Samad Hines - 2023 PG Gabe Cupps (@CuppsGabe) just dropped 27 points (10-14 FG 3-4 from 3) in a win this afternoon in Alabama. His feel, pace, decision making, floor awareness, and shot making abilities were all on display. Very confused on why he is not nationally ranked Yesterday in Banks' thread - Samad Hines on this game -- Have to admire the upside in 2022 F Kaleb Banks (@Kalebb_3). Solid game with 19 points (8-16 FG 1-3 from 3) and 7 boards in a win. The potential is there. 6-foot-7 with length, effective rebounder, mid-range skills, and good paint scorer. One of the top prospects in Georgia. Jeff Borzello -- Thought Kaleb Banks was really good for the Atlanta Celtics. Tremendous athlete, hit a couple long jumpers and 3s, outstanding in transition. He visited Indiana, Alabama and Georgia Tech in June, also mentioned Miami and Georgia as schools heavily pursuing. HoosierAloha, thebigweave, Hutch89 and 3 others 5 1 Quote
DWB Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Well this sucks.... "Peach Jam will be closed to the public this year, due to health concerns". What a crock ! I was planning on going to 4-5 sessions to see some of our recruits. I'm only 15 miles away from the site. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 10, 2021 Author Posted July 10, 2021 We also watched Kaleb Banks' late Friday night game in addition to his early afternoon game. We had staff watching the Indiana Elite 2022 squad vs. Southeast Elite in last night's late game although Ernest Udeh is ill and will not play this weekend for Southeast. Scott Burgess of Prep Hoops IL - Georgia Stars 2023 SG Coen Carr is out of this world athletic! Rangy guard throws down alley-oop. Major factor in transition! Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 10, 2021 Author Posted July 10, 2021 Travis Branham on yesterday's Xavier Booker vs Owen Freeeman matchup. Two 2023 prospects who have been picking up steam coming into July are Xavier Booker out of Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral and Owen Freeman out of Bradley (Ill.) Bourbonnais. Today, both started the morning in a showdown at Best of the South with a handful of college coaches in attendance and both had their fair share of impressive moments. On Booker, his size, length, athleticism and budding skillset immediately stood out. He stands around 6-foot-9 with long arms and a thin, lanky frame. He is mobile and bouncy in the open space, has good ball skills, hit a couple of mid-range jumpers and was effective scoring around the rim. Booker has a nice combination of talent and upside. He has plenty of maturing to do and his skillset has plenty of developing to still do, while still having the foundation as a capable slasher and versatile defender. On Freeman, he impressed with his skillset, hands and touch for a big man prospect. He scored with a variety of moves in the post and showed a developed face-up game, scoring multiple times off the bounce, connecting off of spin backs and push shots in the lane. Booker has recently landed offers from Xavier, Indiana, Notre Dame, Iowa, Louisville and Purdue amongst others. Freeman has recently landed offers from Indiana, Wisconsin, Marquette, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Wake Forest and Iowa. pumpfake and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 10, 2021 Author Posted July 10, 2021 As there is no specifc EYBL event this weekend, those teams are scattered at other events around the country. C. J. Gunn was the leading scorer for Indy Heat with 23 pts. in a 91 - 54 win over the Mid Ohio Pumas Gold squad. He had 19 of his 23 in the first half. Quote
