Battle 4 Atlantis field includes Ball State, Baylor, Columbia, North Carolina, Southern Miss, Texas A&M and Villanova. Hopefully we can pick up a few tough games there because outside of Stanford, the rest of this schedule looks pretty light.

Non-conference excluding Stanford - Basically all Quad 3 or 4.

Last year's ending net rating

Harvard 88 - Quad 3
Maine 112 - Quad 3
at Butler 135 - Quad 2 (barely as cut is 135 so assume Quad 3)
Southern Indiana 146 - Quad 3
Brown 165 - Quad 4
Oakland 254 - Quad 4
Bellarmine 286 - Quad 4

Battle 4 Atlantis (neutral site range 1-50 Quad 1, 51-100 Quad 2, 101-200 Quad 3)
Good chance for a Quad 1 and/or 2 matchups

Baylor 18
North Carolina 37
Texas A&M 41
Villanova 52
Columbia 57
Ball State 76
Southern Miss 138

Schedule as it stands now lends itself to team development,  I suppose. Atlantis (couple games) will provide tough competition along with Stanford.  Could go undefeated entering big ten with top 20 ranking…then will find out how good IU Ladies will be 2024-2025 season.

Or a couple top 20 teams could be added to schedule to make it more exciting.  Outside Alantis, not exciting, rather boring as it is now.

Nice. So that's a pretty solid Atlantis field

Seth Tow --  IU women's basketball brings in Kylie Durkee as Director of Athletic Performance after Kevin Konopasek left for Kentucky. Durkee comes to #iuwbb after two years at Houston in a similar role.

Impressive Athletic Performance hire.

K.K. seemed to have responsibility beyond IU Ladies Basketball and seemed at KY his responsibility will be Lady KY basketball only.

At Houston K.D. seemed to have responsibility beyond Ladies Basketball but at IU will be IU Ladies Basketball only which would be good.

Not sure if the above is correct?  Maybe, someone could explain the scope of this particular position.  Seems that effort and time was put in to getting this hire right.

Much easier path for our Lady Hoosiers.

Not at all. Similarly tough to the men in every round.

Baylor is a ranked team and was one line behind IU in March Madness seeding and has the athletic guards the Hoosiers struggle with. Columbia actually is a really good Ivy League squad and got an at-large bid to NCAA Tourney last year after losing to conference power Princeton in league tourney title game.

I do expect IU to beat Columbia although it won't be easy and will probably be somewhat close like Princeton game in last years holiday tourney. However, Baylor is a true toss up.

Also, notice that everything but the last game (assuming Indiana beats Columbia) will be streamed on FloHoops which is $30 a month (although it can be bought for one month and cancelled). Assuming many won't see team until the championship or 4th place game depending on Baylor result.

Strongly disagree. Zags are top 5 and round 2. and Arizona is top 5-10. Louisville has the top NIL transfer portal haul in the nation. Not even close. Louisville with an energetic coach is going to be very good.

Indiana women’s basketball was picked to finish fifth in the annual preseason Big Ten polls, announced by the league on Thursday.

It's gonna take me a good, long while to get used to this new-look B1G. When I saw this post, I immediately thought, "What four teams are better than us?"

Then I remembered our new Los Angeles friends have very strong women's programs. They take up the top two slots.

Not terribly earthshattering -- mostly for fun. But I found it interesting in that Sharnecce Currie-Jelks was featured.

Wonder if that means she'll be ready to go this season?

Currie-Jelks is ready. She was out last year due to pregnancy that the program did not release until after the season. The baby is now born and it sounds like she has help taking care of it as she plays and goes through school at IU.

She is full go and can definitely compete from a physical standpoint. Whether she can crack the rotation and get minutes is an entirely different question and unknown.
