However, with UCLA and USC now they have little chance of competing for Big Ten Title. 3-5 in league is likely though and a borderline host that is between a 4-6 seed in NCAA tourney. I have them right around 20 now as a 5-6 seed in postseason with potential to be higher if team gels and Meister and Beaumont take a step forward. Definitely reason to be excited for another great season but saying they are close to top-1o now or compete with USC and UCLA for Big Ten Title without seeing how squad plays together yet is a bit of a stretch. I do trust Moren to get the most out of her team though and if we find out there is top 10-15 talent team will get there. If it is top 20-25 roster that will be reflected in results as well. One thing you can be assured of is they will not underachieve and Moren will squeeze every last bit of the onion out of next season wherever that ends up. Meister has an excellent shooting stroke.. Now she has to play with more purpose and confidence. Beaumont has a really high ceiling. Agree wholeheartedly especially with this from your post: Meister and Beaumont are the keys to next season. Thanks for your response….Read. “Now, IU Ladies are a top 25 team and will once again move towards a top 10 team.” I suppose 2024-2025 Ladies basketball season could be canceled. It sounds like you have it all figured out. Lol. Aaron 1 Quote
mickey one Posted April 27, 2024 Posted April 27, 2024 I wouldn't get too ga ga over Southern Cal just yet. Or UCLA for that matter. They are going to have to deal with a pretty tough Big 10, IU included. mamasa 1 Quote

And traveling a day before to a 2-3 hour different time zone for basically every single road game..the greed of the big ten to expand coast to coast is just stupid. TTT Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Good that it is a swift transition adjustment. I always remember how upbeat with an excellent attitude Key had when playing time was limited. Her and Patberg family seemed to be close. Good to get alumni involved with coaching staff. Congrats to both of them. Stuhoo, GoHoosiers1996 and triple 3 Quote

Southern Cal, UCLA, Maryland, Illinois, Nebraska and Ohio State -- all in SSAH. Those are the ones that've been appearing in the early preseason Top 25s. Wouldn't be surprised if the season opens with USCs in the top two ranking spots -- in either order. 1. USC (South Carolina -- the original USC, according to my nephew, who graduated from there) 2. mickey one Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I guess it will be interesting. However, how long until the West Coast teams get tired of flying across the country, and reformulate their own West Coast league? TV revenue is one thing, but not at the cost of sanity. I can't believe how college athletics has completely "sold out" to TV money. What about the "student-athlete" thing? What's next, adding some Big "10" teams in Western Europe, South America, and China? Imagine the TV market! J34, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and cthomas 3 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Guessing this is always a bittersweet day for CMM. It's her birthday -- but also the day her mother passed (in 2018). I was 54 when my mom died, and it absolutely devastated me. I cannot imagine losing your mother at 16. She's one tough cookie, and I'm sure glad she's a Hoosier. Because, without exception, every woman I know interpreted Teri Moren's "Shar's got some things going on" as either mental health issues or pregnancy. And we are all incredibly pleased that it's the latter explanation. (Such a cute baby!) thebigweave, Class of '66 Old Fart and J34 3 Quote
