TTT Posted December 18, 2025 Posted December 18, 2025 IU Ladies may have dodged a bullet by Emily Rodriguez going to Iowa. She is already disappearing over playing time…..though Currently J. Jensen says is still on the team (wasn’t on bench last game). Quote

Surely there's more to this than just losing her role as a starter. “Indiana women’s basketball sophomore guard Valentyna Kadlecova informed the program she will return home to the Czech Republic to play professional basketball. This was a decision Valentyna made with careful consideration, and we wish her the best in her next chapter.“ I've been trying to keep an eye out for any further info- radio silence :( Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

But then again, who doesn't appreciate a good conspiracy theory? Kadlecova returns home just as Faith misses games in concussion protocol. Hmmmm! BTW, I'm truly not suggesting there is any cause and effect but the timing is an interesting coincidence and everyone knows Leroy Jethro Gibbs doesn't believe in coincidences. You would think that if something happened between the 2 someone would've said something or does Moran run that tight of a ship? Quote

I'm not, but no word has gotten out why she left except she is playing pro in Europe. You would think some word on her being unhappy about playing time or the coaching staff would get out eventually. TTT Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Observation: T. Moren takes players and tries to develop them into more complete players…not only defensive but also more offensive dimensional. (rebounding, going inside, posting up) along with spot up shooting…Examples: Parrish and Garzon wanting them to be more than just spot up shooters….this was done out of necessity due to shortness of talent around them. Maybe other coaches do this as well depending on needs. However, T. Moren does this quite a bit because roster talent has always been thin vs having those same players being allowed to concentrate and develop their specific skills….rather than trying to over expand them sacrificing their specific skills development….in Garzon and Parrish case; spot up shooting. Wondering if players are apprehensive to this kind of coaching wanting to continue their specialty/s with more talented teams/players. Quote
TTT Posted Thursday at 11:04 AM Posted Thursday at 11:04 AM 2026 state of IU Ladies Basketball and a highly ranked 2026 recruiting class is a misnomer in that it’s going to get much better.…..unless a couple highly regarded players come in from transfer portal (not to just fill roster spots but are actually really really good physical scorers and shooters are recruited and choose to play for IU Ladies next year….to go along with current key players and 2026 recruits. (Bunches of money and a really good big needed from transfer portal and a high scoring really good wing needed). Current state of IU Ladies Basketball. ronzo4IU 1 Quote
TTT Posted Thursday at 07:40 PM Posted Thursday at 07:40 PM IU Ladies need to retool again to be competitive….to play in top half of big ten. (8th place and above). IU Ladies need to retain the following players for 2016-2027: Current players: Makalusky, Caffey, Noyan, Beaumont, Socka Nguemenn needs a lot of help plus unsure where her ability (how good she is or may be (unknown)) and injury prone takes her. Use Z in double post or not sure about moving her to a power forward with high quality post player, Wiseman if she wants to stay (don’t expect anything from her), Stotijon (don’t expect anything) Incomming players: Jackson (don’t expect much as a freshman), Nyemcheck and Battle will play, James (don’t expect much) Transfer Portal: Lots of Money….and a 6’4” high level scorer and rebounder, and a 6’2” wing high level scorer and rebounder. TRANSFER PORTAL CANNOT BE USED TO JUST FILL ROSTER SPOTS AND HOPE FOR DEVELOPMENT BASED ON IMAGINARY POTENTIAL THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN. (players that play must be able to pass and handle ball kind of a given…and play some kind of defense….defense is important but a team has to score points rather than trying to hold teams to in the 60s almost every game. That’s a total of 13 players. Another reset or retooling back to back seasons…. is much needed because 2 very high quality players needed from transfer portal that will be starters capability on this team……every player will have to earn what there impact or role is on the team. (couple players not mentioned may or not stay since roster can have 15 players). If the above doesn’t happen don’t expect much more than what is happening because minus weak teams on schedule other teams including most big ten teams have maintained and or are leaving the IU Ladies basketball program in the dust. ronzo4IU 1 Quote

Agree, and like I said, might be time to move on to someone who understands the modern era of recruiting/coaching evaluation process. I doubt we overcome our flaws that go back to being the #1 seed and losing at home to Miami. Wish Teri the best and thankful for what we had when we had a glimmer of hope and the stands were full for a moment in time. I don’t see things changing if she stays. There is a disconnect somewhere that I doubt we will ever be able to understand exactly. Quote
TTT Posted Friday at 04:33 AM Posted Friday at 04:33 AM Still want T. Moren to coach at IU…. not sure how it works but it has crossed my mind of her becoming a full time coach for USA basketball because of her involvement if that’s even a possibility as in full time unless it was changed into that. ronzo4IU Posted Friday at 02:46 PM Posted Friday at 02:46 PM Who knows, maybe Colston Thompson can actually get her the players that she can win with. I’ve always wanted her to remain the coach at IU and was extremely hopeful a few years back. If they can retain the incoming freshman and hit it big in the portal maybe there’s a chance. 19 hours ago, TTT said: J34, mamasa and TTT 3 Quote

Thompson brings swagger to IU Ladies. My observation: you can identify several top Ladies coaches who have swagger ability and confidence that can handle the very best top players with egos, their own swagger, personalities, behaviors etc. and sustain success…… Observation: It seems many 96+ rated players shy away from IU Ladies or T. Moren may shy away from them ((lack of recruiting battles for 5 star 96+ players and hardly ever getting one if any….when IU Ladies tried to recruit a few 5 stars @ 96+)) maybe lacks the confidence to deal with them as IU Ladies player unless they have a high character of compliance to what she often preaches. T. Moren seems to want that compliant player who obeys and follows what T. Moren knows and feels comfortable with. (Last couple years NIL has entered picture) (yes she deals with high level players on team USA for a short period of time but how many recruits has she gotten from that = 0. Zania was already a member of IU Ladies program. ronzo4IU 1 Quote

I hope they are receiving adequate resources to land the players in need. Much like the mens team, I think we are going to have to over pay this year to beef up our roster and maybe for a few more cycles. TTT and J34 2 Quote
