Agreed ...I don’t follow those two but hopefully he is at least sending representatives to their games to stay in contact.  Luke has had someone from Purdue at about half of his games and while he is on record saying IU is his dream school I can tell you with certainty that he and his family notice that Purdue has been in attendance so often.

I'm not sure how much interest Indiana has showed any of these players. It could be far more than we realize, but I do know Leal and Brown have both stated Indiana is their dream school.  I am slightly concerned that a dream school becomes less dreamy once you realize another school with more recent success and from the same state and conference is showing you very early on they see you as a priority (Knight made it clear to Bailey he was a priority very early and established a strong connection).  Then again, it could also be looked at from a very different angle...attention and offers received from a school that holds out (which Archie certainly does more so than Crean did) can be perceived as more special to some kids.

It's hard to say what interest Indiana has in any of them, but there's a lot of competitive players around the state.  It would be hard (and dare I say, foolish) as a coach of a team lacking pure shooters to not pay some attention to kids like Brown and Blackmonn who are consistently pouring in points from allover the court.  I'm sure they're all on the staff's radar with the inside out approach being the game plan in their recruiting.  I hope if Archie does end up wanting these players he doesn't find himself asking for their services too late in the game.  I trust Archie knows what he is doing.

I think at the very least being present and showing interest is important ...especially if he grows any...he could be really dangerous

Watching players like Bohannon have completely changed how I look at players like Leal, Galloway, and Brown. Seems like under Crean they didn’t pursue players that had IU sad their dream school and I think there is something to be said for those types. Maybe they will wear the jersey with a little more pride.

Iu has passed on players like Ryan Cline and Kellen Dunham in the past and it eventually bites them in the backside

I think IU was in on Guy for a long time but he didn’t care for Crean at all. He has family that has worked at IU for a long time but the family didn’t like Crean

Just take the brown verbal now or I just know he will go to purdue. Bohannon was ranked 315th so who cares on his ranking

At his current height with a little more weight I really feel he will be a solid Bohannon type 4 year player ....if he adds a little height, even just two inches, I think he could be as or more impactful than Coverdale, fife, etc.  You wouldn’t beliebe the way this kid works and someone on here commented perfectly a few back ...there is something to be said for a kid who dreams of going to iu ...it means more to them than it does the guys we beg to come here

I hadn’t heard that ...good insight....I had always thought Bennett was looking at him before he had his big aau explosion between junior and senior year

I agree Indiana should show some presence in case he matures in ways that convince the staff he deserves a scholarship.  Perhaps they already do?  I wouldn't know.

Is he still icing his knees?  If so, then he's apparently still growing (Osgood/Schlatter disease).  Even then, he'll still need to bulk up a bit (but he's still only 16).

And I tend to agree players who dream of wearing the stripes often give more (especially role players who are willing to do whatever it takes and due to their attitude and effort end up making a greater impact than many expected). That said, though, even with more effort some players have limitations which make it impossible for them to outperform others with more natural advantages.  Another group which often exceeds expectations is the underdogs (Oladipos) of the world, but I don't believe Archie Miller will recruit (gamble and often strike out on) the "diamonds in the rough" as relentlessly as Tom Crean did.

I think Brown has the elite basketball IQ to run a team from the point guard position, the team-first/whatever-it-takes attitude to act as role player until his time arrives, and the determination and work ethic to overcome any physical (height, athletic, or strength) obstacles that stand in his way.  More importantly, the kid can already score and pass on another level and Indiana could use both NOW.

Still, I'll trust Archie is watching closely who he believes fits into his system.  And, as I stated above, he may be watching Brown more closely than we realize.  I hope he is, but not if it requires him to take his eyes off another player he deems more appropriate to his style of play.  If I'm not mistaken, then Archie has only offered one kid from the 2021 class.  I'm sure he's paying attention as much as he feels is necessary.  Whether that's enough attention to keep a kid from looking elsewhere is anyone's guess.

Fair points and to be honest if Luke doesn’t grow maybe he’s a better fit at butler or ND from a system standpoint in which case I can still at least cheer for him ....I’ll be in a serious sickening dilemma if Purdue signs him though ....I thought Archie had offered Caleb Furst and khristisn Lander from 2021 but maybe it was just Furst ?  I agree with the weight but Luke put on 15 pounds in upper body weight between last season and this season and has started doing some really intense workouts with a trainer.  My personal belief is that’s why his 3 pt percentage dipped slightly ( coupled with the double and triple teams).  I think you’ll find he’ll be more muscular and slightly heabier than Hulls or Guy were as seniors. He finally has some relief with his knees but he grew almost three full inches while they were bothering him so I think the tendon has just loosened and the growing has slowed.  If you look at him ( leg hair, facial features, etc) he doesn’t look like he has peaked but ya never know with those things he could be as tall as he will ever be.

You’re right. I just looked it up. I thought Terrence Clarke still had the only IU offer from 2021. Furst and Lander both do as well. Blackmonn and Brown have not been offered.

And that part I agree with also ...it’s probably too early to make a formal offer ...I just would like them to send an ambassador once in a while to let the kid know they notice what he’s doing.  I know what he will do if IU spurns him.  The Blackford team has two pretty decent permítete defenders.  Quick kids who aren’t great all around but they hustle and can guard.  Very rarely one of them will knock a ball away from Luke or out of his hands and they told me he takes it INSANELY personally and will spend the rest of the practice scoring on them or driving past them.  He will be a chip on the shoulder guy.

All CAM needs to do is looks down his bench. I see at least 4 players that doesn't have the abilities that Brown has now. Been on him for awhile now and think that he will develop the next 2 yrs. If Hoover thinks that this kid is a special player, then I take his word for it. He has been around the game 30-40 more yrs than our coaching staff.

I agree ...Jerry tells lots of stories but I haven’t caught him exaggerating any ...when he says this kid is the hardest worker he has had he means at ANY level and that’s pretty high praise
