Walking Boot of Doom Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 But wait, what about his indelible commitment to helping the victims and community heal? They’re gonna do it the only way they know how - winning basketball games. Don’t worry, it’ll unite the community and help them forget their problems. Fixes everything. Deserthoozier Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.freep.com/amp/1143441002 All good! Nothing we should worry about happened at MSU. Add MSU to the list of schools with enough political influence to make huge moral corruption issues of no signicance to the NCAA. I know, not in NCAA’s monitoring purview. It only regulates trivial issues like extra calls and bumperstickers, and maybe $$$ - still waiting to see there. Joe Klingler and Hutch89 2 Quote

I've lost all respect for the University and their horrific programs. To permit is to promote. Quote

As I recall this is exactly what I said would happen. So yeah that contributed. And no but not even allowing a chant calling for his resignation. IU should have been less worried about Izzos feelings plain and simple Quote

How did that work out? As I said following the IU/MSU game and IU's handling of the situation, this isn't our mess and no matter what our student section said during the game it would not have changed a thing regarding Izzo's job status. They had to rush to punishment because the timing didn’t allow them to truly bury the story if this had happened in February I am sure Meyer would have gotten no punishment whatsoever. Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 So then how are IU's hands dirty in this?Sorry I quoted the wrong post. That was supposed to be a reply to Brass. It will be deleted. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk Quote

woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I wasn't going to waste my time posting more. The NCAA wouldn't have paid anymore attention to it if they would have done what you suggest. The only opinions that carry any weight in these decisions are those of the NCAA, the university's BOT, the media, and the state government with regards to a public university. That's it. Maybe the police and judicial system as well. It's not a rival school's job to play a hand in getting a coach fired, and the topic of debate has no business being used in a chant-like fashion during a basketball game. We're talking about sexual assault here. Not recruiting violations, crab legs, or Tom Crean's pants. It would have only made our fan base look bad by engaging in that kind of behavior. Is this the look you want for IU in lambasting MSU athletics? Rutgers fans made complete asshats out of themselves when Penn State came to town in 2014. Again, IU does not need another school's mess bringing us down as well. woodenshoemanHoosierfan and Hutch89 2 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I never said to do something classless but to completely silence students from the issue was not the answer. To not even allow chants telling Izzo to resign was too far. If at every single away game fans had changed for him to resign it stays in the news. It stays relevant. Granted they would have just waited longer to do nothing. But at least we wouldn’t have helped that piece of garbage. Deserthoozier 1 Quote
