Imagine next year without OG, Bryant, and James with CTC as the head coach.

What's the purpose of this post?  To drive people to drinking?  I would advise against it, it's a suicide mission because the human body can't handle that amount of alcohol.

That piece was so spot on it was scary. It wasn't even Brennan either, which makes it worse. Doing some research on some podcast and Medcalf also says this recruiting class suffered by not knowing if Crean would be here to coach any of them. That means internally there have been discussions. This is the first time this may actually be real. Unless we take a page from Syracuse last year that is the one thing that saves him. A tourney appearance doesn't do it IMO. With OG and TB almost definitely gone and JBJ as well this would be the time. I am saying this though. WHOEVER coaches us next year deserves one year to get it together. I'm not saying a 6-25 season I'm saying a 19-20 win season. And probably a 8 or 9 seed. The following year will be when expectations rise to contending for a title.

For anyone considering Altman, I went back to the first year KenPom kept data, 2002 near the middle of his Creighton tenure, and figured up his career average AdjD.  That's 16 seasons, including this year, and his average AdjD is 75.5; if you throw out the highest and lowest as I did for Crean, it improves slightly to 74.  Not even close to championship caliber.

Aside from that he's coming up on his 30th year as a coach and has gotten past the 2nd round a total of twice with no appearances past the Elite 8, considerably less impressive than Crean's wildly mediocre track record.  He's like a lesser Tom Crean with typically less bad defense.

Fred Glass will lose this entire fan base if Crean is back. And Fred should then be questioned about his spot

If Crean is back it means we need a new AD as well as a new coach.

I have doubts an AD could mishandle Alabama football or pUKe basketball and keep their job.

I've stated that Glass should be gone as well if he brings back Crean

I'm dropping this in this thread as well, cause the next coach hopefully espouses valuing the ball and treating the first and last 5 min of each half as extremely important:

Went back through the season's play by play and found the following...Turnovers on the 1st or 2nd possession of the game this year.

Today - J Newkirk TO 1st possession
Purdue - Rojo TO 1st possession
Wisky - Newkirk TO 2nd possession
Rutgers - Bryant TO 2nd possession
Maryland - Rojo TO 2nd possession
Wisky at home - Bryant TO 1st possession
Louisville - TO on first 2 possessions
Nebraska - Newkirk TO 2nd possession
Houston Baptist - JBJ TO 1st possession
Liberty - Bryant TO 1st possession
Kansas - Bryant TO 1st possession

Let's not act like he should be winning titles at Oregon. Lol until he made them good at basketball Oregon has always been a football school. Even Billy Donovan struggled to be good every year at that type of school. Up until 10 years ago I would say Oregon wasn't even thought about by elite kids.

That Syracuse game told me all I needed to know. Most talented team he would ever have at IU and still doesn't make it past the Sweet Sixteen. I was so dejected after that game and knew right then and there that they needed a new HC

On top of that we barely beat Temple to even make it to Syracuse lol.
