IUFB Offseason Updates

While I enjoy seeing the respect IUFB is getting (ESPN's Way-Too-Early Rankings have them at 10) with these preseason rankings I have to remind myself that Ole Miss beat them in the bowl game and PSU was a preseason top 10 last year.

Hopefully they continue from last year's success and don't lay an egg like PSU did last year.

Ole Miss got to practice. Our bowl prep was NOT a normal bowl prep. Both Cords had Covid and A LOT of our players had it. Not an excuse, but it is fact.

1) Thank goodness I have that channel.

2) Double thank goodness I can access Fisch/Suhr the Elder on TuneIn instead of listening to the P-level announcers that they'll have on the call.

If we're being honest with ourselves there was absolutely nothing normal about the entire season last year.  Yet another reminder to myself.  I guess I'm just being cautiously optimistic.  The culture is there and last year's wins help move this train forward and I'm ecstatic to be riding on it.  LEO

I get though. So close to being "proven"

I have a friend (an IU grad) who feels very similar to you, I think.  He felt that we were lucky to beat PSU and they were actually pretty bad...and I'm guessing his thoughts also include the "it was a down year for the BIG".  So, I just say IU has to keep moving forward and do it again.  My friend is totally expecting a step backwards this season.  It's another tough schedule for IU.  GO HOOSIERS!!

I'm not expecting a step backwards per se.  I'm just setting my expectations a little different than others.  Like I wouldn't be surprised if our beloved Hoosiers start the season 2-3 or 1-4 or finish the season 6-6.  But then again I also wouldn't be surprised if they start 5-0 or 4-1 or finish the season with 8 to 10 wins.  I would be completely surprised if they have a losing season and don't go bowling.  That last sentence is probably the feeling for most if not all of us IUFB faithful.  And actually typing out that sentence fully explains the progress the program is going with CTA running this thing.  It's awesome to be talking this way about IUFB.  LEO

I'm in total agreement here.

Understandable somewhat for those games. We do get the 12pm ABC game though with Cinci.

You have to think OSU is a 330/8pm start. One of PSU or UM could be 330, as well.

Yes ABC is cool and I didn't think about the others so I'm good with this. I wanted to do more breakfast on my Blackstone this year anyway.

Looks like we are back to lots of noon starts.

I really don’t like the noon starts from a stadium atmosphere perspective. I get that older fans like it, but I think it will be difficult to get the student section in full force (and full intoxication) that early in the day.

Few top programs struggle with attendance regardless of start time.
