how do you go from getting an extension to being dismissed?

Repeated clashes with administration?  did they all happen in the past year?

I assume IU must have something that gets them out of the buyout..otherwise it's going to be a lot of $$$

FWIW, early in the Wilson tenure, I was not a fan AT ALL, and it had little or nothing to do with on-field performance. Wilson had a personally destructive way of conducting himself away from football. It bled into his interactions with players, the media, and fellow bar patrons, and it was well known in Bloomington. I'm fairly certain that with Fred Glass's mindset, Wilson was put on some kind of notice that his personal behavior had to change. Given the recent (relative) success and upward trend of the program, it seemed as though that had happened.

Now, I can reasonably speculate that his personal behavior backslid in a way that was unacceptable.
