IU OVER unc POST GAME THREAD

love the win but my enthusiasm is definitely down because of OG. Really hope we didn't lose him for a long period but it didn't look good. Tried to read his lips after and it looked like OG mouthed "I broke my ankle" :(

That's what I've been saying too. I saw the same thing.

Depending on how bad the high ankle sprain is a break might be better.  You never want to see someone go down but like someone posted above an injury now is much better than later in the season.  We'll definitely need OG to reach our goals.  This could give players like Morgan, Davis, CuJo, and Green an opportunity to step up and get more time before the B1G starts.  If he's out for an extended period of time (Butler, UL, B1G games) it'll be interesting to see how the selection committee evaluates IU come March.

I've heard a break is better than a high sprain as well. Not sure the timetable on either though. Could it be 3+ months?

Hats off to the students and the crowd--ELECTRIC!!

Get well OG---IMO he is the X-factor on this team---IMO we would be unbeaten if he could have played the whole game against IPFW

Fear The Hall---Where ranked teams come to lose!

You rank'em---we spank'em!

Hats off to the North Carolina natives---Newkirk and RoJo. Both of them showed up big time. Solid. Glad RoJo picked IU over UNC (his final 2 if you recall)---He made the right choice---probably a bench player for them versus a starter for us.  RoJo got us off to a good start and Newkirk kept things steady.

We all knew Blackmon could score----but I am so impressed with his rebounding.  I heard he led the team with 9. Kudos!

Also---especially with OG on the mend----we may need to use DD more inside----he has showed some flashes of greatness. As bad as OG's absence is for us short term----it may make us a stronger team long term by getting some of our younger players more minutes now. I just want everyone healthy by BIG season. We must defend the title!

This. Not as bad as the extreme some are nervous about emoji106.png

I'll trust you guys judgement. Just think if we want to be title contenders we absolutely have to have OG. Trying to stay positive about it!

Sleep good tonight Hoosier Nation! I know I will. I have to get up bright and early tomorrow to let the UK fans down here in Southern Indiana know that Indiana BBall is alive and well. And of course remind them that we have now beaten Kansas and UNC this year and UK 2 of the last 3 times we played them.....we are getting our swagger back Hoosier Nation and it feels good!

Josh Newkirk is a keeper.

Plays excellent D. His best game as a Hoosier yet. His one flaw is he can play out of the flow of the offense, but hopefully he continues to work at it.

I doubt it would be 3+ months for someone in his condition and age.  I'm going off my experience and what I've been told by doctors.  I tore two ligaments in my ankle that required 6 months of physical therapy and have rolled it again by just walking on even ground.  OG has access to excellent doctors and trainers.  If it's high ankle I would guess he's out about a month plus some time to get back in a rhythm before being at 100%.  It'll be interesting to see if they actually reveal what it is and how long he'll be out.  Here's to a fast recover and the team holding down the fort while he's out.
