First, you guys are hilarious. Reading the pages I missed on a long travel day is great. I guess I missed the chance to drop the bomb that coaches were informed yesterday that Woody is being retired. Better to come from established sources so those on this board who question inside info so diligently wouldn’t have to post responses. Should be an announcement officially tomorrow. Told it was supposed to happen today, but Woody is being difficult about ending the season - and some of that has to do with getting the most out of his contract. This all follows several weeks of work by Dolson, and his witnessing a fight in the locker room that had to be broken up, with an assistant coach yelling at Woody “this is why they’re firing you!” Want to watch the women’s game now, so will save some additional nuggets for later. But Dolson is retaining a search firm just to check the box, but we’re getting our guy. Numbers have been discussed. I’d expect that to be announced after the season right before the tourney starts. I’ll add more later. Sorry my travel didn’t spring this last night before it hit the media but had some family things going on. Things are about to turn around for IU and our fans in a big big way. I’ve had several PM’s so wanted to drop a quick line to the broader board. Love this group and fully intend to continue to contribute to the community, Im not going anywhere. (Sorry to a few of you) But I have been asked to quiet down and I’m going to respect that. Talked to another guy in the know and he got the same messsage. The things being worked out right now they want to do with less heat and smoke. I’ll give some more insight when I can. Think things should be pretty quiet until after the B1G tourney. All is well.

So I couldn’t get much from him unfortunately. But, to me that’s a good thing. There’s been pretty much zero chatter, nor leaks for a month about coaches. He said it doesn’t matter that the season is still going on, he would still hear of legitimate names. And he hasn’t. I asked him if the “5 min zoom call” was legitimate. He laughed and said no. No one at brads status would only give 5 min of time. That’s disrespectful. I also asked if he heard the $100 million number and if there was a verbal agreement (which came from the IU sources via Chris, Yeagley, etc). He hadn’t heard that but he did confidently say Brad turned down a 7 year 70 million offer last time. I asked if I should trust the IU sources from a weeks ago, and he said at this point I could, because it’s eerily quiet on his end. He thinks Dolson has known for months who the next coach will be. That’s all I’ve got.

I appreciate all the support. I love being a part of this place for the last so many years. I will continue to share what I hear. I will be right sometimes and wrong probably more than I would like. Do I get some bad information sometimes yes but I don’t think it was this time. So to the ones that are my friends thank you, to the ones who blast me, love you guys too. It’s a beautiful weekend and let’s see how this plays out. PS I was told my beautiful mug was all over the TV last night. Pretty sure a modeling agency will be knocking on my door any day now.

We have BoT approval. Contract being worked on and will be sent to Brad to be reviewed and (hopefully) signed.

I'm going to say this. We're not going to be talking to a guy since late November about our job coming open. Discuss salary, give NIL assurances, make sure they feel comfortable coming here this time, and then the first weekend the job opens the person goes yeah NO Thanks. Scott and his team, have put a lot of time in effort in this back-channeling to try to give us the best shot possible at landing him. He has listened, given us feedback, asked for certain things, and told us he's considering it. We haven't even gotten to the formal part of the job interview yet and won't for some time. Not like Stevens needs to interview but we're not going to sit down with him for some time. He might say no. All of you people who have said Stevens is 100% not coming to IU will be able to post I told you so. But to say we have no chance, you're flat-out wrong. Nothing is happening with any candidate this month I can tell you that. So relax watch some games, go outside and get some air. Mike Woodson is not the coach next season and an upgrade is on their way. Go Hoosiers!!

I said this afternoon. It’s 2pm my time. And for those who think I’m full of ****, I told Chris via PM a few weeks ago who my biggest “national” connection is. He’s an AP voter out east. Do you want me to share or not? Chill out.

Yes. Obviously. Anything could happen. People have free will, situations could change. There’s no guarantees in life. But I believe what I’ve been told. I know the facts about what has been done and we’re preparing to do are in place right now. And if it does happen to go a different way unexpectedly, I’m very confident and happy with our “miss” scenario. This is much different than ‘21 replacing Archie. Coaches were looking at IU and saying I’ve got to go in there and be successful with those players, and even recruit some of them to come back - and I need to be competitive year one and two. NIL wasn’t in play yet. Flipping a roster wasn’t a thing like it is now. A coach now says, I’ve got more resources than almost every team in the country and will be able to get whoever I need to fit my system. And I get to be a hero for one of the most storied programs you could choose from. We had to scramble last time and heard “no” more than thrice. This week we’ve got major names in coaching reaching out to express interest. So yes. Objectively, we might get another kick in the dick. But I feel good right now we have our guy. We can’t miss this time. I myself am excited. All is good.

The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

Good evening all,' It's been quite some time.. As I've garnered some recent inside information, I wanted to share the knowledge with the BTB family. As most of you know, I've held a close relationship with Coach Woodson over the last 4 years; be it our Saturday iHop visits, golfing, and sharing coacoa at my log cabin residence.. it pains me to see him go.. With that being said, he has let me in on the likely candidates for the position. From the words of Scott Dolson, "Archie Miller is the answer." Dolson doesn't believe we gave Miller the time that he needed to bring this program back to glory, and believes that Scott Drew's recent testacle surgery would make him a liability. While I do believe that Archie has this job locked up, my personal co-sign for the job goes to Andrew Toole, head coach of the Robert Morris University Colonials. Has he shown success? No. Does he have any type of proven track record? No, he doesn't. What he does have, is an absolute smokeshow of a wife; I mean an absolute rocket, which leads me to believe that Toole has a shaft like a Subway Cold Cut.. This is the type of energy we need to see within this program.. Do we truly believe Coach Knight wasn't packing an absolute lantern between his limbs? Okay so here is where we are at,: So yes some high dollar donors are where I am hearing that a verbal has been reached. Sounds like last bit of piece we need to do is get approval for new salary/bonus totals. Brads agents essentially got dolson to verbally up the offer which needs board approval. Takes time for board to approve, send revised contract, get him to sign it, work out other details. Because of this news being massive I think they will work to expedite. Part of reason high dollar donors are first to hear is because there is some additional NIL ask that is part of the verbal with brad. So while this is now at the one inch line we just need to formalize. I doubt top media will hear about this until later tomorrow as they are keeping it pretty quiet right now. I do not know what the verbal is in terms of how much we will pay him but do know that NIL increase will likely be much higher than what woodson worked with and woodson worked with a top 10 NIL budget

I had a Valentine’s dinner with my wife then went to the game with my family. Not sure what’s going on. Last I was told there was a verbal with Brad guaranteeing he would sign since we met his counter offer. I was told he didn’t want to sign this weekend due to the all-star game. The contract was written up, signed by the trustees and sent to Brad. I can explain in more detail later. If I let you down it’s my fault. I’m going to try to get answers this weekend. Love is still in the air.

He’s done at the end of the season regardless. The admin is just being cautious about a mid-season change because not every coach and media person in the country has been watching for four years and understands. It’s maybe not a good look as a program to be moving on from a coach with a winning record and above .500 conference record. Unless a string of games or bad loss is in the forefront of things. Just let it play out. Our schedule is about to get hairy, and Woody isn’t learning to coach suddenly in February.

Well, you all may remember me fondly as the Woodson defender from last spring. Let it be known that I am now 100% firmly planted in the "Fire Mike Woodson" camp. You all were right. I was wrong, and I'm man enough to admit that. I was at the game on Tuesday. The vibe was off before the game even started. Get rid of him now.
