  1. He forgot one...   Purdue - North Korea.  Has delusions of grandeur, but in reality they find it difficult to repress the envy they have for their far more proseperous rival to the south.

  8. Saw Ahmed Hill for VT tonight. He was a major focus one spring period two years ago and a guy who really put the ball through the hoop. Averaging 8.3 ppg and 3.5 rbs so far in about 22 min, started half the games.

  13. ehh...I don't know about UK being the USA...the US has only been around a few centuries, and has only dominated the last 150 years or so...   Duke is a better fit to be the US...   UK has pretty much been dominant since basketball has begun...so which nation has been powerful since the dawn of man and still thrives? I'm gonna say Rome...   Rome (Catholics) still dominates the globe in terms of population, and Rome has had it's downfall (as did UK throughout the years), but is still riddled with controversy...   that's my take and I'm stickin with it!

  14. One thing i think we learned about Wisconsin and even saw it last year is that a very good backcourt can expose them because they really aren't that athletic.

  16. ASU drills UNLV by 22. GO goes for 8/5, which is better than his averages. Can't believe how bad UNLV is. 3 extremely high rated recruits in GO, Morgan, Vaughn. Some other talent too. I'm thrilled as they are high up in my Dirty School list. :)

  17. Theo Pinson stinks again. I am record saying he was a project wing. It's proving more and more true. 0-2 tonight and 2 points. Pinson and Oubre are the worst 5 stars in some time. I imagine they breakout eventually though. Etherington only 3 points in 13 minutes in a blowout win Vs. Indiana State. He is what we thought he was.

  21. haha, couldnt possibly understate how bad this stream is.  they show a replay after every boston college bucket and miss half or all of the ensuing indiana possession.  I don't think I've seen us shoot one of our nine free throw yet, since apparently staring at the eagles logo is more important.  and I have a blanket draped over the right side of my laptop to hide the score which is a couple minutes ahead.   good thing our frontcourt is so talented, because the post defense needs a lot of work.  the awful officiating doesn't help.  stratman will help next year.  a jakubicek return this season might too.

Gonna be okafors first real test I'm just afraid seasoned vet Kaminsky could get him in foul trouble. If so Duke could be in trouble. But if the outside shots are hitting they'll be fine.

  26. I felt like the commentators gave IU a lot of love tonight.....liked our offense---liked our guards----praised Hanner and Holt------had Yogi fever----loved Troy's athleticism---actually complimented our defense ----etc.   That has to help our recruiting----hope Bryant was tuned in!

  27. Pap---you have been holding out, Sir!   Please post more often----THIS is why we come to the Boards---for that golden nugget of information.   So glad I learned something new tonight-----so much better than all the "Crean sucks" posts we usually have to respond to!   Thank you!

  30. If college basketball programs were countries, there is no doubt in my mind that Kentucky would be...   Kazakhstan.     NEED PROOF?  I have uncovered secret mating and training video footage during which it is IMPOSSIBLE to discern whether the participants are in Kazakhstan or Kentucky.     SEE FOR YOURSELF!!     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wHYHMpHmSg

I wouldn't be surprised if he won national defensive player of the year he is unreal on that side of the ball I remember in this first half him forcing turnovers on back to back possessions

  38. Yeah Duke got upset up there in 2008 after throttling purdue in the challenge. I will not be upset with a loss tonight if it's close. Be a good test to see where Duke is really at.

  39. It's hard to win in Madision.  We know by experience that the officiating will be biased.  I have to give a very slight edge to Wisky.   It's hard to root for either team in this one but this is a B1G vs ACC thing.  I have always hated the ACC because of Dicky V.

  42. Lot of Ron Patterson talk on the Syracuse boards. They think he's going to Boeheimed (yeah they call it that) to open up another scholarship spot in case they lose some post-NCAA decision.
    1 point
  43. Not sure why any recruit would touch Syracuse at this point with all of the infractions piling up.   Of course, maybe the thought is the NCAA will do nothing again.

  44. Now I didn't say that. I just wouldn't use her words as anything more than her opinion. Remember, she had some negative things to say about UK, as well.    East coast guys say Mom wants him at Syracuse but TB isn't sold. Mom's comments to the press throughout his recruitment seem to support that. I guess the question in this one is how much pull does Mom ultimately have? That I do not know.   Maybe of note:   That is sorta why after it was announced that TB would be coming back for HH I suggested that the key was to see if Mom was returning. That meant so much more than him roadtripping with a few of his buddies for a midnight madness event. TB was a bit under the weather and had a standardized test run later than he had thought IIRC so they never made it anyways... I know some think that cancellation of the visit was BS but that's not really my opinion. Bryant was pretty high on IU after that visit and was recruiting Bridges. Crean had TB deliver that offer, btw. Maybe thats been said idk

  45. It's part of the same article already posted and discussed here. About how IU deceived them. With any luck, Syracuse will lose a couple of scholarships because of their malfeasance and it won't matter who was in the lead.

  46. So--what is Calipari's new sales pitch to Bryant and others?   Maybe Calipari says "Gentlemen---come to UK where you have never had to work hard on academics and now we have sweetened the deal where you don't even have to work hard on basketball anymore to get drafted by the NBA---I can turn you into a millionaire and all you have to do is work 17 minutes a game and average 7 or 8 points and rebound or block a shot when you feel like it."   It's ridiculous when you think about it----and the NBA will be drafting on potential because they are not going to see substantial minutes or great stats.  I know these are 5 stars but some may be able to sneak into the NBA with very little productivity and without actually proving they are ready.   Of course--what does Calipari care---he will just replace them more 5 stars the next year!   Nice little system he has going.  Sickens me.
