  1. Past hour
  2. It seems that Alabama’s Preston Murphy and Texas Tech’s Achoki Moikobu, both of whom had previously worked with DeVries, may have taken a long time to decide they weren’t interested in joining his staff. That hesitation hurt us last year. However, pivoting to Kenny Johnson may ultimately prove to be a blessing in disguise.
  3. Yeah, I'm with you on what maybe else could have been done with that money. Split between two other guys, etc.? Just not with you on Dorn. Dorn was pretty bad last year. We don't know what Harris will be, completely agree there, but I can't imagine him being worse than Dorn outside of that 3-4 game heater.
  4. Wouldn’t that in theory also apply to Dorn? IU lacked a consistent 2nd scoring option all year behind Wilkerson. After Dorn went on a little heater in late January, teams treated him as such, and he struggled. Dorn would never be more than a 4th/5th option in almost any combination lineup next year. 8 points on 38% volume 3 point shooting for your 5th starter isn’t bad, especially when he’s only commanding $500-750k. What level of production do you need to see from Harris to justify paying 7 figures?
  5. Hoosier alum Sam Sarver had the game winning goal for FC Dallas + a very IU celebration RDT_20260517_004406.mp4

  7. Women's season came to an end last evening in a 9-7 loss to Virginia. But it's been a really enjoyable several months to follow this team. Hess started but couldn't make it out of the 1st inning. Faced 4 batters - a BB, a double, a HR and VA had a quick 3-0 lead. We got 3 of our own in our half the 1st; 2 on a Josie Bird HR. VA scored 4 in its 3rd; we got 3 right back in our 3rd and tied it at 4 apiece after 7 complete. But VA scored 2 more in the 5th and that was the ball game. VA had a total of 10 hits and we walked 6. We had 7 hits; Bird with 2 and Bird and Haberstroh each with 2 RBI.\ Thank you IU Softball and we'll see you next spring.
  8. I would bank that Harris will have a better year just for the reason that indiana has a much better PF, C combo than they had last year, which is going to open up the floor. In theory anyways
  9. Was explaining to a friend today who isn’t big into sports just how meaningful Mendoza will be to the university for the rest of the existence of the football team. She thought within 4 or 5 years nobody would remember him. It was mind boggling.
  10. From a production standpoint, Harris isn’t likely to surpass Dorn from last year and you’re likely paying Harris 2-3x the amount you could have paid Dorn. When you’re operating on a budget and need to fill as many holes as IU did this offseason, every dollar counts. If Harris can average 10-11 off the bench and shoot from the perimeter at a clip similar to Dorn, I’ll shut up. But more likely than not, Harris is going to put up production numbers similar to Dorn but at a significantly higher cost.
  11. Ok, we haven’t been relevant for sure, but DD could’ve transitioned here like Dusty, or Cig that has been mentioned bringing in assistant coaches and former players, etc., but for whatever reason he didn’t, and so our first year was what it was, but in this era, a great coach can turn around a program in the first year or two, which is the point no matter how miserable we have been we have resources that are far superior to Most.
  12. 2 things: 1) like that shirt a lot. Very simple, very cool, 2) What is up with dude’s toes? Those look absolutely painful.

  14. Women stay alive with an 8-0 run-shorted win over Northern Kentucky. Re-match with Virginia scheduled to start at 8:15. Troutt pitched all 5 innings and allowed just 3 hits and didn't walk a batter. We had 11 hits scattered throughout the batting order and 6 different players had at least 1 RBI. 8:15 game will be televised on ESPNU

  16. Have no thoughts on his actual game, but look at this kid’s frame, movements and stroke and tell that doesn’t look like Hood-Schifino.
  17. Depends on how early he thinks he expects to see the field
  18. And the fat lady has sung on the 2026 baseball season. Certainly not what anyone expected but at least the team did win the final weekend series beating Illinois 11-2 this afternoon. We pounded out 10 hits off 5 Illini pitchers. Cal Gates unloaded the first home run of his college career in the 4th and it will always be memorable for him as it was a grand slam. Lots of questions to be answered before next year. Good read from Ari Shifron at the link below. https://www.assemblycall.com/p/pro-development-or-program-decline?r=2xu6ia&utm_medium=ios&triedRedirect=true
  19. Any intel on this one where he’s leaning?
  20. I would of used IUs stats dating back 16 years compared to those 2 but IU hadn’t been relevant enough for anyone to compare them to those 2 top of the B1G teams in that timeframe
  21. My point was that the stats dating back 16 years between Michigan State and Michigan do not have any relevance pertaining to Indiana. Yes I understand that Michigan is usually good in sports and IU predominantly has a history of being good in basketball (until now) and yes, we’ve had a rocky road ever since Knight was fired. We are a program in the NIL era that, with a good coach should be able to rebound just as fast as any. I am not trying to cast shade on what DD is doing and I hope he succeeds like I stated, and I think most fans, though critical of things pertaining to the roster build are just pointing out weaknesses that they perceive based on past history.
  22. I keep thinking this one isn’t really a thing and things keep popping up just enough to make it a maybe and now they watch him 1st weekend and IU gets an early mention from the kid. If Clark is doing work here I guess we’ll see.
  23. You, too, boo boo? ;)
  24. Schwarber last 18 games- .300/.402/.857 -- 12HR Last 8 games- .353/.421/1.147 --- 9HR
  25. Let me see if I can tease this out for you in a way that’s clearer to understand. —Portal rank does not equal roster rank for next season (despite the coincidence that Torviks site has our total roster close to On3’s or wherever portal rank). —A teams portal ranking is going to be heavily influenced by two main factors: 1) the number of players you bring in and 2) the total spend. IU had those two things in spades vis a vis portal rankings. We had tons to spend and we had 12 players to bring in. It follows that most schools in that position will be at or near the top of the portal rankings. Louisville is in a similar spot. But very few people would take IU or Louisvilles roster over Dukes, Floridas, or Michigans even though we out-did them, by ranking, in the portal.
