7:30 Friday you can watch Leal go one-on-one with our very own mamasa. Well, at least it’s mamasa’s local high school. His eligibility is long gone! https://www.iscsportsnetwork.com/videos/2020-bbb-bloomington-south-at-columbus-east

St Paul’s plays Brewster Academy(Terrance Clarke/Matt Cross) Friday at 5:30. Streaming here: https://web.playsight.com/facility/brewster-academy/home Been looking forward to watching this one more than any other HS game this year. Now may miss it because of a mtg I really can’t skip. Wonder if anyone will notice if I’m on my iPad and paying zero attention to the presentation?

I believe it would put us in that conversation. Thing is I think I’m on the opposite side of the fence from Joe. A duo of 40% 3pt shooters would have a dramatic effect on the IU offense. Miller’s offense looks like it does because of that lack. Dig this, I’ve read through this entire thing, the game threads, all of them. One thing I keep seeing, from everyone, is “It’s so disturbing, we are getting plenty of wide open looks, we just aren’t knocking them down”. Right. We are. Why? It’s not the offense generating wide open looks from 3....it’s the opposing defensive game plan. They want this team to shoot that shot, their all but begging you to do so. It’s working. Clog the lane, double the post immediately, no matter who touches it. Give them a clean passing lane to the outside. Indiana, although having near unlimited opportunities for wide open looks from distance, actually ranks last in the league in 3 pt attempts. That stat right there should tell you that the philosophy of getting inside and getting to the line is the only viable option. I’ll put this to you guys, if that stat had us near the top in 3point attempts, we’d have already played ourselves out of the tournament. 16 turnovers in the stat column but in reality it’s 30 because the team badly missed 17 attempts at 3. Coach Miller did not assemble a roster capable of winning consistently in this league, and I’m not certain he can. for that I fault him and nominate him for replacement but I do think his offensive approach is the only thing he has available and the only thing that will get this team enough wins to get in to the dance. I just don’t understand how people could say that the addition of a couple shooters wouldn’t change this offense 180. I think it’s a team on the verge some addition and subtraction needed but get even 1-2 guys on this years roster to start hitting on 35-37% I think you’ll not only see a different offense, but a dangerous team as well. _______________________________________________________________ Gary Parrish ✔@GaryParrishCBS While working on the updated Top 25 And 1 last night/this morning, I realized only two schools ranked in this week's AP poll have lost to a sub-100 KenPom team this season. One is Duke. The other is Kentucky. And Kentucky has now done it three times. ____________________________________________________________________

It's a pretty simple game, the effort was there to win, defense without a doubt was there to win, shooting was not. I'm for one who has never thought Anderson was this level of a player. A few too many turnovers. I think they got some calls, I would have gotten a T sooner myself but there is a reason why Rutgers hasn't lost at home this season. They looked like an NCAA team to me.

His system doesn’t work in a league where fouls aren’t called. His offense does draw some contact but the majority isn’t called unless we are at home. His defense when it’s not operating at 100% efficiency is too easy to break down. Most systems you can hide a bad defender not the packline. If he showed a willingness to change and grow I would probably be saying give him another year. But dude is going to die on this hill that his system is right. Maybe if our league wasn’t a joke with officiating it could work but that ain’t happening anytime soon.

So we have 7 more home games. The students will be there for the rest of them, so that helps home court advantage. We win those 7 games and there are our 20 wins. Will it happen? Who knows. I'm trying to hold off my judgment on Archie until after this season is over.

Only thing I remember from that time was Archie going on Dakich’s show for a really awkward interview and Dan kind of throwing him under the bus and ask him if he is bring the Wright kid from Dayton with him. As a former coach I’m sure dan knew that opposing coaches are not allowed to talk about other teams recruits but he did it anyway. You could tell Archie was surprised by the question but he did a little coach speak and basically said the only thing he could of said in that situation that he hoped he sticks with Dayton Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

In no way does that mean Archie wanted Al durham over McKinley Wright. More than likely meant he wanted continuity in the program he was coming into while not blowing up the one he left.

    1. True. 2. We can assume this to be true but I have not seen any concrete evidence that he was let go without any hit to our APR. Thus it is speculation. Also, student athletes have to have above a certain GPA to be able to transfer without it affecting the APR. Unless we know what the athletes GPA's were we can only speculate. One can also speculate that the three players who left that summer to play professional basketball did not have the minimum GPA required and did hurt our APR. Thus leaving Archie's hands tied. But again, it is speculation which is what this board is made of every single day.

And there would have still been people complaining about not making the tournament, including many of the same people. I agree with this though Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

That is actually really great unique perspective and congrats on being part of one of the country’s premier soccer programs ...walking on at Indiana probably meant you turned down free rides at almost anywhere you wanted

I don’t know his family’s situation, but as someone who chose to go to IU as a walk-on at IU to play soccer instead of taking scholarship offers from other programs because it was my dream school, my advice to him (as I sit here with six figures of student loan debt) is take the free education son. You can be a Hoosiers fan the rest of your life without being an alumni.

(2020) SF Jordan Geronimo to Maryland

The kid’s also a year young for his class. He doesn’t turn 18 until, I believe, next October. He’s got a great frame, maybe he grows into an OG type. Anunoby would have been a monster in Miller’s system.
