Thought exact same thing as it was happening. Should be a 10 second run off at minimum there. Would've taken close to that for them to get reset after sack.

I saw this go down on RedZone so might not have it right, but didn’t the Ravens burn a timeout so they didn’t have to take a runoff?

Correct

No, they did not.  Check the highlights on YouTube.  They had one timeout before the play and had one after.  They used it after that next play to set up for the field goal.

There was no penalty called, so no runoff.  A total glitch in the system.

This is how i saw it as well.  The announcers kept saying they would have to use a TO to avoid the 10 second runoff but it looked like that never happened.

Well it doesn’t look like they got the runoff part right, but they certainly didn’t add time to the clock from where they were. Knee went down at :18/17, ball touched out of bounds around :14 (which doesn’t matter since he was down 3/4 seconds before), and they snapped the ball on the next play at :11.

If they ran off 10 seconds - which I thought was the rule in this situation- and the game played out the same way, the Ravens get their timeout called after the next play at :03 or :02 instead of :06 and still get their field goal try, so idk if it matters. Not sure what the alternative is on a weird play like that.

I was pissed the whole time, too.

That really isn't how it would have gone down, though.

They would have had to call at TO at 18, which I guess they'd stop the clock then? Idk.. I don't think Balt would have called it that quickly. But let's say 18 secs... they aren't running another play to the middle of the field after using a TO.

I also HIGHLY doubt, if they DON'T use a TO, they either: 1. get a play off at all 2. get any decent play off that the Colts can't just easily defende.

The way it worked.. the Ravens got a free TO, got to talk it over. That BS review, whatever you want to call it, was a STUPID benefit to the Ravens.

I agree.  Theoretically, they could line up quickly and then try to spike the ball to stop the clock.  Since he was sacked and everyone was spread out that would probably take 8-12 seconds to get set and maybe a second to snap and spike so then they would have about 4-9 seconds left with the TO.  If the higher amount they could probably try the pass in the middle but not if they were near the 4 to 5 second mark.

Right, my "idk if it matters" timeline was working off of what actually happened with the refs' screw up, not them calling him down correctly from the beginning in real time. The Ravens obviously are a lot less likely to get that FG try if they got any part of this right lol.

Wild, wild game. I still can't believe the Colts won.

Any Colts fan should be pretty darn pleased with the first 3 weeks. For sure could have lost yesterday, but the Colts also outplayed the Jags for 3Qs.

You're missing a play here.  The clock stopped at :14, they moved it back to :18.  They moved the ball to the line of scrimmage, stood over it until everybody was set, then moved aside before they started the clock at :18.  That's when Baltimore snapped the ball at :18.  No time off the clock at all from the tackle to the long delay to Baltimore getting set and snapping the ball.  You can see the following play on the highlights at :11, you'll notice it goes from 1st down to 3rd down on there.

Egregious.  But thankfully not game changing.

Somewhere right now Bill Belichick is telling his qb room to always throw the ball out of bounds after getting sacked at the end of games.

Dare I say the Colts are in the playoff hunt?  Hell yeah!

Their offense was a little disappointing, but that may have been due to Minshew not having a great game. Pierce is seeming more and more like a wasted pick. But, they play the Rams next. Have to feel decent about our chances with the Rams coming off a Monday night game and traveling to Indy for a 1pm game. They almost lose two days there.

I'd almost prefer Richardson stay sidelined for this one. Aaron Donald doesn't give me warm and fuzzies with him fresh off a concussion.

I want TonyRich in there against Donald.  And I want to see the "franchise" QB actually start and finish a game.

Agreed. Can't plan or play scared. AR just needs to learn how and when to take hits. As much as I appreciate and respect Minshew, both professionally and personally (seems like cool dude), AR gives the offense more juice. He needs as much PT as he can get this year to help going into the future.

Plesantly surprised by these first 3 weeks

- When we've seen AR he looks better than the ultra raw prospect people made him out to be

- Our run blocking has been real good so far. Have 10000% more confidence in Reiman now than a month ago.

- Pittman has been low key great so far. Downs is everything advertised

- Our D in general has been great.

- Steichen has been way more good than bad. Not just on Sundays. Kevin Bowen has brought it up all week. His level of accountability is lightyears beyond the previous coaching staffs.

- My one gripe is keeping AR healthy. I just don't get hyped for games when Minshew plays every snap. AR has to stay healthy and play. This year should be about building for 2 years down the line and go from there.

The NFL needs to swallow their pride and admit that their overtime rules are garbage compared to NCAA.

In my opinion the college OT is horrible. You need to keep playing football and not some gemic. It is like having a 3 point contest in basketball for OT
