In my head I counted 2 WRs I would take over Pittman.

Before Sunday he had been shut out in the second half of the two previous games. The reason he js the #1 here is because they’ve put little to no emphasis on the WR position

He's a Top 10 WR in yards and missed a game. The reason he's a #1 here is because he's really good.

So you think he's better than two of Diggs, Jefferson, Kupp or Chase? C'mon. And then leaving many others including Hill, Adams, Lamb etc. behind him as well....I'm fine with being a homer but then objectivity no longer exists.

The AFC South is trash. So is that suppose to be an accomplishment or something?

I'm curious what your idea is of a #1 guy. What are the requirements? He was a 1K receiver in his 2nd year and is well on pace for that again this season and that's even with him having missed a game.

There are like 7/8 guys who are #1 WRs in the league. Guys who it doesn't matter who you put on him they get theirs. He isn't that. Throwing out yardage stats is funny to me. Its a league dominated by the pass game. Also the season is 17 games now. Getting to 1K yards shouldn't be that hard if he is a #1 WR even if he misses one game

#1 WR is very subjective. Is it simply a #1 on a depth chart or a WR who is dominate at their position? I would tend to agree with@KingPG21 that there are maybe 10 guys about every year that are dominate. Either these guys are going to take a game over, make huge plays, clutch catches on critical down and distances or you're going to use extra resources to stop them. In my lifetime the Colts have had 2 of those guys in Harrison and Wayne and you could certainly argue for Hilton but I go back and forth on him. I would put Pittman, right now, in the category of very good but not dominate. He has had some obvious road blocks to his progress, i.e. 3 QB's in 3 seasons and still has the potential to be a "WR1".

Yeah it seems we just have different ideas of what a WR1 is. I don't view him as a top 10 guy, more in the 15-20 range.

No.  I don't think that.  I was being as outlandish as your "I'll take 30 WRs over him" statement.

But, I think he's better than Lamb and I love CeeDee. The others on the list are over MP, no doubt. AJ Brown is too.

Not sure.

Reggie Wayne at this point in his career had 1350 yards receiving. Pittman has 2000.

Reggie broke in while Marvin was here.

And there was about a 5 year period where the Colts had 2 #1 WR's. Going through the absolute dog crap of the early 90's with the Colts made that era all the more fruitful. Only problem was then all of a sudden everyone was a Colts fan and I hate fair weather fans.

My point was that I find it difficult to compare Pittman's stats with Wayne's.

Wayne and Harrison were GOATs but they also had a GOAT throwing them the ball.   Man, they were fun to watch.  Pittman has a lot of potential for sure and he's really good.  Hard to say what he would look like with a Prime Peyton Manning but he doesn't jump off the screen the same way to me.

I agree. When you have another target monster/HOF'er you are playing with then clearly your #'s will be less than if you were the #1 option. Guess I just went down memory lane instead of saying I agree
