To make it 'fair' our opponents will wear helmets and we will be banned from helmet usage. You forgot the fact we'll have back-to-back road games on Fridays and Saturdays. Quote

At USC Friday night followed by a Noon kick at Michigan. And BTN isn't even hiding that Gene Smith is the real B1G commish with this announcement. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
IUFootballHappyHappyJoyJoy Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Big Ten is getting rid of divisions in 2024, opting for a rotation model for the schedule. If I can describe this in one word for IU, it's "merciful". Quote

LIHoosier Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 The B1G probably spent more time naming the scheduling model 'Flex Protect Plus' than anything else. This is the way it should've been once the B1G ballooned to 14 schools save for going back to 8 conference games. Keep one rivalry protected and rotate the other 14 schools every other year for the other 7 games. Hovadipo 1 Quote

Adding our non-cons, the schedule sets up pretty nicely the next 2 seasons to get back into the bowl conversation: 2024: vs. FIU @ Louisville vs. Charlotte 2025: vs. Old Dominion vs. Louisville vs. Indiana State Demo, LIHoosier and thebigweave 3 Quote

After this year our conference schedule will be significantly easier: Instead of games every year against OSU, UM, and PSU, we have a total of three games in two years against them. The teams that we play both of the years? Purdue, Michigan State, Maryland. So, so much easier to navigate. Now only if we can get IUFB to suck way less. go iu bb 1 Quote

So now we can't sell recruits on getting to play the best the B1G has to offer every year? :) JK, this is so much better. When I saw there would be 1-3 protected games per team, I wouldn't have been surprised to see IU's protected games as Purdue, OSU, and Michigan or Penn State to make sure those teams (the latter 2/3 teams, not PU) get their gimme games protected. Getting the team to not be it's own worst enemy when we play teams on our own skill level while we aren't playing the three headed beast each year will determine if we go bowling. -Captain Obvious VPC 1 Quote

TTT Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Hahaha…schedule relief could equal same success in win loss column but instead of getting beat by two touchdowns and a field goal plus a safety…maybe losses average just one touchdown and a field goal. Over and Under…does IU football have a really good quarterback within the next decade (10 years)??? Quote

If it's Iowa, always take the Under. Quote
