Well... in a small technicality.. Priller doesn't really play for Indiana either. I wouldn't call any recruit a mistake. Some just don't turn out. Doesn't mean they aren't good players or didn't have the potential to be good. Hollowell had loads of potential and looked good his freshman year. IMO he was greatly misused. Crean wanted another Watford but that wasn't Hollowell. There was also ZERO leadership to be found anywhere in the program. Coaches or players. I wouldn't consider Stan a mistake. Kid was a tough nosed defender but couldn't shoot. Was Luke Fischer a mistake? Hollowell and Stan at least stayed 2 seasons.

Somewhat agree with this. These situations are highly nuanced. Kids that bust just as easily can work out. It's not all "Coach A is an idiot!! Why would he offer this kid??"

If that's your take on Hollowell, Devin, whoever.. Congrats on being brilliant.

I didn't say they were winning but Jeremy averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds. And that's good.

15 and 5 in the sun belt. I would say It was a good move for him to go to a low major program. Maybe he can have his one shining moment next year if his team gets into the tournament as a 14 seed in a first round game.

In regards to Fischer I think Crean wanted another Cody and knew he didn't hit the mark with that.

Huh? Fischer was going to be/is a good college player. I don't think Crean wanted him to leave at all.

Agreed,I remember feeling nauseated when Luke transfered.Actually that symptom went on for 2 seasons .Just really bad chemistry and weird coaching.Feeling a bit better now.

It was such a punch in the gut to do that on the morning of the Illinois game! He had just played his best game of the year against Kennesaw, too

Too bad he didn't acclimate socially. That's very tough. His transfer is a perfect example of why blaming the coach is often just the most convenient rationale. Luke would have been a hell of a player here and is becoming one at Marquette

It's odd how no one has really followed up and gotten his side of the story regarding the accident on Halloween

Someone was telling me there was more that happened than what went public and that IU was covering something up. He didn't specify though so I couldn't take his word for it.

Same here. What I heard was that Troy and Stan kept kicking him out of the room to smoke. And we do know that Troy and Stan did fail some drug test.

Heard that as well, and that the last straw was some of Troy's buddies stealing Luke's stuff. I don't Luke fit in with the culture of IU basketball at the time whatsoever. Sure wish he had stuck around, though.

Sure wish he would have stuck around to be one of the few to change the culture back to what it should be. Having Luke and Hartman as seniors this season would be nice. I'm not sure how the dominoes would have fallen had he stayed though. Interesting to think about but too complicated to really understand who might have committed or gone elsewhere if he were here.
