hoosierpap Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN Georgia Tech could finalize the deal with Pastner tomorrow, multiple sources told ESPN. Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN One source on this Georgia Tech-Pastner deal: “I’d be surprised if it doesn’t happen.” Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN If Pastner does get Ga. Tech, it will be interesting to see names that pop up for Memphis: Gregg Marshall, Penny Hardaway, Jeff Capel, etc. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Penny Hardaway? Wow. Really. I wasn't thinking Pastner to GTech. Really?? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUsafety 1 Quote
HoosierRob Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Pastner is a horrible coach. Great recruiter, but horrible coach. Gt must be getting desperate. HoosierAloha 1 Quote

Feathery Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Marshall at Memphis could be a fantastic match, imo. He would get higher caliber recruits easier there and he is already a very good Xs and Os guy. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

IUsafety Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Tubby Smith to Memphis Darn, I kind of enjoyed Memphis not being very good. Tubby is a good coach. He should do well in that league. Don't know if it is a better job though. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
biteoftheapple Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 More access to local recruiting, certainly. Quote
yogisballin Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Pastner is a horrible coach. Great recruiter, but horrible coach. Gt must be getting desperate. IMO GaTech should be a decent job. In a hotbed of talent down there close to Atlanta and all. Totally agree, Pastner is horrible! Good recruiter though Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
X-Hoosier Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 I hope Memphis can be good again. The AAC has potential to be a pretty decent conference. UConn, Memphis and Cincy. Temple is a storied program. Houston seems to be on its way up with Sampson as coach. SMU I think will go back to poop once Larry Brown is gone unless they make a splash. But the Top 3 in that league HAS to be UConn, Memphis or Cincy or the conference is doomed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app IUsafety 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Maybe if UNLV paid its coaches as much as its players they would be set. Or showed any loyalty. Or had a grain of decency within its program. I hate UNLV. ALASKA HOOSIER, HoosierAloha, Hoosiers219 and 3 others 6 Quote

Tom White Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 UNLV really dropped the ball. Could have had an elite coaching staff at a discount. I think that speaks as much to how slim the pickings are for Karl, than anything else. Full disclosure: I know he gets a lot of hype as a great coach, but what has he ever done with any of the talent he has coached? What has he ever won, in the NBA or in international competition? I've just never been a fan of his. Quote
