HoosierAloha Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 The NW girl actually ran into Jen Anderson's elbow no? That was odd. mamasa 1 Quote
mamasa Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 This sucks- 3rd quarter has been ours this season. I was hoping to blow them out in it. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
colonel06 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Just tuned in Nwestern doesn't look like a 12 to me!! Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Why waste a timeout with 0.5 seconds left? Whoever takes the inbounds pass probably won't get a shot off in time anyway. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 I'm getting nervous that NW is still controlling this game. My god, they've got to be tired since it's their 3rd game in 3 days but they certainly don't act tired and we're getting banged around pretty good with no calls. End of the 3rd quarter and NW still leading 54 - 49. We can't pull our shooting % up and that's the key difference in the game. Buss with 14, Cahill 11 pts. Cahill with 9 reb. Come on Ladies, dig down and run them out of the gym in the 4th quarter. mamasa 1 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 There should have actually been more time on the clock after the block out of bounds. The clock ran a bit after the ball hit the ground and the signal from the ref. mamasa 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 If there was a foul, it doesn't matter if she released the shot before the buzzer. Continuation means it counts regardless. IUsafety 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 OOPS, my bad. Somehow, we pulled off a spectacular in-bounds basket with .5 sec. remaining in the 3rd quarter and NW leads 54 - 51. mamasa 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Getting totally outplayed on both ends of the floor. Disappointing. colonel06 1 Quote

TheWatShot Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Has Northwestern missed a shot in the fourth quarter? Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 We're a step slow on the NW drives and shutting of the lanes. We're the one ones that look like we've played 3 games in 3 days 69 - 63 NW leads with 4 min. remaining. Quote
tyappleg Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 It appears BTT woes are not limited to our men's team, unfortunately. JaybobHoosier 1 Quote
mamasa Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Oh well, guess I know who I'll pull for the rest of the tourney. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 A valiant effort at the end, but simply too little too late. NW's shots fell and ours didn't. Northwestern wins 79 - 73 led by Nia Coffey's 26 pts. on 11 of 23 shooting As a team NW was 32 of 69 from the field for 46%. Conversely, we could only hit 26 of 67 for 39%. Particularly rough game for Buss. Really hard fall on her left elbow that she shook off as well as getting beat up most of the game, but her shooting touch was off the whole game as she only hit 4 of 18 from the field. Cahill with 23, Buss 16 and Gassion with 11 pts. Cahill with 13 reb. We only committed 13 TO's, but several were unforced. Now we wait for Sunday and the NCAA Women's Tournament pairings. . mamasa 1 Quote
