CottageGrove Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Final non-conference stats for Anthony Lee, otherwise known as our missing piece: Games: 11 (of 13 they've played) Minutes: 12.2 PPG: 4.1 RPG: 2.9 APG: 0.0 BPG: 0.2 TO: 0.6 Stl: 0.1 On one hand I had long felt he was our missing big man this year. But with the times & numbers he's getting at Ohio State, I wonder how much of an impact he really would have had. WayneFleekHoosier, mamasa, scots07 and 2 others 5 Quote

CottageGrove Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Have you watched Hanner play? Honestly, my post about Lee had nothing to do with Hanner. It was a light-hearted recap of his stats so far this year since we pursued him pretty heavily during the offseason, which obviously fits in with the theme of the thread. Heck, I finished the post by openly questioning whether Lee would have added anything this year. I didn't realize I needed to specifically point out Hanner to make sure people knew that the opportunity cost of adding Lee was Hanner's increased minutes. Then again, it would probably be pretty easy to argue that from a defensive standpoint Lee would be a lot more consistent than Hanner this year anyway. But I digress. I really don't want to derail this thread, which I generally find really interesting to keep up with. WayneFleekHoosier, Stuhoo, Naturalhoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

Holt and Perea have the potential to be very good players but they are completely outmatched (no fault of their own) by true big men. Make no mistake about, IU needs size down low to make us a contender for any type of championship. GloryDays 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 It's closer than you think stuhoo. Russell is going to embarrass some folks in the B1G. He is slight of build and doesn't play through contact like DSR but DSR "normally" doesn't shoot lights out like he did against us. We make others players look good, really good. In summation, they are similar. My "EASPORTS rating*" for DSR is an 85 and Russell an 83. *code for a "made up" rating from a scale of 0-100 IUsafety 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Yogi is a 90. And Blackmon is a 88. I got Yogi at 88 due to height limitations and I have Blackmon at 83 just like Russell. Blackmon is a 90 on offense and a 75 on D. Quote
