Just on 4 separate premium forums their insiders said there was a connection but didn’t elaborate.   Who knows.  Maybe he just connected well with the coach or more likely there is a connection to an assistant coach or prior relationship

That's what I was wondering.  Almost feels like it has to be some assistant coach/NIL/prior relationship.  Best recruit to Minnesota since Kris Humphries.  I'm not sure if kid is from CA to begin with but if so, he'll love Minnesota during basketball season.

I think it's the latter of what you are saying. But, he will be in for a miserable experience with the weather during BIG season. I seriously considered attending Minnesota, but fortunately visited during January or February. Based on the location of the dorms and the business school, I probably would've had to cross a bridge over the Mississippi River. I did it once during the visit and it was like going through a cryotherapy wind tunnel.

From reading the commitment articles sounds like a late bloomer and if you look at his recruiting profile not a lot of teams involved.    First offer was December 2021 by UC Riverside and then nothing until May where Minny, TCU, Kansas, Florida St, San Diego st offered and then Texas in June.   Took officials to TCU and then Minny and committed to Minny a month later

Kansas seems to offer every kids that enters the top 50 and then sees who they will prioritize.  My guess without looking is they prioritized someone else higher ranked

37 of the 52 offers for them are kids in the top 100

Brother of Davide, who took an IU visit a few years back before playing on Texas Tech’s final 4 team. Looks like he’s enrolling immediately.
