Don Fischer on the call.....just in time for the Duke game

Recommended Posts

*  Timeout with 32 seconds to go.  To go to the bench and listen to Mike Davis.    Still get a chuckle out of that.

*  Didn't know it at the time, but this game spelled 15 years of frustration for IU fans because it led to a contract extension for Davis (which he didn't deserve, hadn't really earned - 20-11 going into the tournament and the #4 seed in the BTT despite the shared title - and botched completely); then a subsequent hire of Kelvin Sampson because Herbert demanded a minority since Davis was "forced out," and Indiana has never recovered.  Great win....but a catalyst to a very dark period in our program's history.

On Campus for that masterpiece. Raged on Kirkwood afterwards. Pictures of riot cops, etc. one of the best nights ever!

it was an awesome celebration. No one really rioted but they had riot cops there in full force. People where lighting shirts on fire. Climbing traffic lights. Just silliness. The walk from Evans Scholars to Kirkwood was equally memorable. Everyone was so stoked and drunk. I had my girl with me and my buddies but it would have been an epic night to be single. "Hook Up" cheer was in the air.

A topic for another thread but I am often curious what results we would have had, good and bad, if Sampson or Davis coached the exact same rosters as each other and Crean.

Still not a foul on fife lol. I remember this like it was yesterday. 13 years old and running around the house with my dad like idiots. Good times

"THEY BEAT DUKE THEY BEAT DUKE!!!!" as the 13 year old version of me and my dad ran around the house waking my mother up scaring the crap out of her in the process lol
