You get what you pay for. Unless Glass is willing to pay Bo Pelini $4M a year and pay for top assistants, firing CKW and replacing him with Carey or Campbell is not going to lead to different results.

Whether the stats say so or not the defense is much improved. They are playing more confident and aggressive, getting sacks, tackles for loss and turnovers. The Achilles heel is third downs.

The offense isn't turning the ball over. We have a great offensive line, and a solid set of skill players.

Unfortunately, if it wasn't for the Rutgers loss I don't think this conversion is being had. But considering the near losses against SIU and Wake in similar fashion, the Rutgers loss was kind of coming to us.

It's slow but the team is trending up. Gotta pay up if you want different results. Otherwise, no point in making a change.

I tend to agree I just don't get why you pay to attend the game then leave at half. Its IU football but we are still usually in it at half. I'd either stay home and watch on tv (most likely) or suffer through to at least the 4th quarter.

Exactly!!!!! I understand leaving with a few minutes left, but not at half. Very frustrating, and it let the Iowa fans turn it into their favor. While I understand it stinks to see a losing product, people still need to show up and support. One thing that also stinks are the freaking IU basketball fans but Notre Dame football fans.  :nono:  :negative:  :120:

This is true. Top assistants are huge in college football and you have to pay good $$ for them. While I think it sends the wrong message to keep a guy who just keeps losing and losing I agree a new coach probably doesn't make much difference here.

Sure, we have the same tradition as ND in football. Wow

to me it seemed like a lot of fans stayed after halftime, but the mass exodus began after it was 35-20. And honestly I don't blame them. For the students especially, the football tickets are included with basketball and many just want the basketball tickets. It's not like the students are losing money by leaving early. Lots, and I've been guilty of this, go in for a quarter or a half to see how competitive we are. Most of the time that is met with disappointment so they leave early. It is what it is, and until we start winning it won't change. Just my 2 cents

Makes one think, when the B1G split up the divisions and it came down to IU in the East and Purdue in the West, I wonder if Glass considered the added cost of competing in the East?

The head coaching salary differences between the east and west are pretty significant. Michigan, OSU, and MSU round out three of the top four in the conference, Maryland is about to pony up a big salary with that Under Armour money, and I'm sure Rutgers will cut a big check now that it's receiving a full share of B1G revenue.

Maybe we could have negotiated a coaching stipend from the conference after the division split :D

No, it was 21-17 at half and a ton of people left then. People started leaving early 2nd qtr. It's dumb. I get just staying home. Leaving during a good game, I don't. Strangely, the Iowa fans managed to get back to their seats by the start of the second half.

It happens in basketball too. I always see people heading out to avoid traffic even if the game is coming down to the wire. It's bizarre.

A. Nate was exactly right. They probably aren't feeling pressure because like 7 people care. They have to push themselves.

B. We're going to beat Michigan. I'm going to keep predicting upsets until it happens. I'm bound to be proven right at some point. :)

I'm old and getting older every day.  Can we get one of your upset predictions to come true before I start doing the dirt dance?

Suds quote - damned if you say the same generic post game BS

Damned if you say an accurate and telling thought about your program. People wonder why players don't give real answers during pressers...

People complain about generic post game BS, but only in the sense that we would like more information. I think everyone agrees generic BS is better than honest negative opinions. That's why the BS exists.

Yogi saying "it's tough some games but you have to support your teammates" after a loss is way better than "We would have won if Crean stopped sweating long enough to coach" even if the latter may be more truthful.
