Robert Johnson or Emmitt Holt?

Recommended Posts

If you were coaching the Hoosiers, who would you start? How many minutes would you play them? Would you start a different player? Interesting to see what people think. Interesting to see what numbers people bring up. I know who I'd start after looking at each players Per 40 and Per 100 possessions but I want to see what some others in Hoosier Nation are thinking.

I would start Holt in most cases, however Johnson would get more minutes through out the game. He would get minutes with a 3 guard lineup as well as spelling Yogi & JBJ.... Holt would split time with Hartman, Max, and the 3 guard lineup.

Fluid based on opponent but this for the majority of games

Johnson. You guys remember last year when we thought Stanford would be on the borderline of starting or 6th man? Carved out a 6th man role and his minutes kept dipping with his inconsistent play. Then he transferred. We can't be losing quality players.

I don't get how we would lose Johnson if he was our Sixth man.  Hes basically guaranteed a starting position after this season.

I'm gonna go with...

None of the above...give me Hartman!

He can guard the four, he's another shooter, and he gives us Rojo as a true combo guard off the bench, and Holt as a big that can guard the 4 or five off the bench.

Also, he will now be 18 months removed from his ACL surgery, and his athleticism should be a good bit better than last year.

Loaded question here I see this going two ways depending on who were playing as to which of the two start if we play it right, it will take a lot of humility from both guys to swap out starting and coming off the bench but if they buy into it it will work

Johnson's not Stan Robinson.

He can shoot, make layups, shows great promise as a defensive player and isn't a headcase.

He would likely get as many minutes as a sixth man as he would a starter with our lack of depth at guard.

Holt, Hartman or Morgan for that matter give us the size that we need to compete in the Big.

I'd have three or maybe even four lineups. If your scouting report is up to snuff, we can pick.and choose matchups to our advantage.

Yogi James Troy Holt Bryant against bigger teams. Purdue, MSU.
Rob at the three against most.
Maybe Colin at the 4 against teams who like to.clog lanes.

Don't forget, Rob looks to pass when he drives to the hole!  One of the major issues I had with Stan.

OG. ROBBY. JOHNSON.

I like the lineup with Troy at the 4 because of the system we run. Naturally, Rob plays the interchangable 2/3 spot here so I choose him. I don't think you're losing either way here though.
