I don't know why he would have fought for the Big Ten exemption so hard if he didn't want to play in the conference. I don't know where his best place is for opportunity, but we have to be hard to turn down in that field.

I hope he announces soon.

It's possible the Fred Hoiberg situation (will he stay/go) might be holding things up, since Iowa State is one of the final contenders.

This scenario seems more and more likely. He's giving it 'til the weekend to see what happens in Chicago. Makes me feel like IU is his second choice if Hoiberg leaves for Chicago. If that's the case really would rather pass on him and let him go to Nebraska. This off season cannot end quickly enough for me.

Not to start anything, but since when are we rivals with Michigan? I don't really view that as a rivalry. Maybe in the year we were fighting with them to win the Big Ten but I've never seen IU vs Michigan as a rivalry

IMO we definitely have a strong conference rivalry with UM and it has ratcheted up with the Crean's run-in with the Sampson assistant (I refuse to speak his name)---the Dakich walk-on, and the recent poaching of Indiana high school BBall talent by UM. If we get Max---it will only add to the rivalry both-ways.

Agreed. Plus I think there is always a little bit of a rivalry with other teams in the same conference.
