After a dominant July for the Mac Irvin Fire the state’s top small forward Stevenson senior Justin Smith is ready to focus on recruiting.  Last week he cut his list to his final seven in Indiana, Michigan, Xavier, Illinois, Stanford, Villanova, and Wisconsin.

Smith informed PrepHoopsIllinois that he has lined up three official visits and two unofficial visits to this point.  They are:

August 14 – Michigan (Unofficial)
September 3 – Xavier (Unofficial)
September 10 – Indiana (Official)
September 17 – Villanova (Official)
September 30 – Stanford (Official)

Stay locked on PrepHoopsIllinois for the latest on the state’s #3 2017 prospect.

I don't doubt that. Smith for Hartman. Wilkes for OG. I'm certain that is the thought. Time will tell.

Yeah I'll be worried if we get a Smith and we start going hard on Tucker.  Otherwise let's prepare for a bumpy ride.

I think Wilkes and Smith can coexist in the same line up. I think that's what Crean wants even.

Is that what Wilkes wants is the question

Nah.

Wilkes knows he will start wherever he goes, and that we'll have enough room for J Smith and him.

A class of Durham, Smith, Wilkes, Waters, and a big would be a huge home run.

He absolutely will start...but what position/role does that push him into?
