OT: My First Viewing of 'Blue Chips'

Recommended Posts

A few observations:

1: The (probable) accuracy of this film is staggering. Even being 20+ years old.

2. The NERVE Nover had going in and asking for $30k straight up.

3. Chuck Crabb is the Western University PA announcer.

Great movie.

It's Must See TV!

A lot of truth in that movie---just think what inflation has done to the benefit$ that schools like UK offer now!

Sorry---couldn't resist taking a shot at the D-league team to the South.

Yep. Going to put it on netflix shortly. Even if I hate mellencamp's music! Which I do

Say what???  Mellencamp was boss back in the day----I have to ask if you ever saw him perform live?

I saw 2 concerts----one at IU and saw him in Indy too----2 of the best concerts ever.  The Scarecrow tour was classic.  Whether you like his style of music or not-- he is a true Hoosier icon and fan who supports IU. For years, he was about the closest thing we had to IU royalty/celebrity at the games.  Gotta love that Mellencamp Pavillion and other donations and projects he has funded too.

PLAY GUITAR!

I'm actually at that scene right now. And I'm puking.

But Calbert and Keith Smart suited up for the movie to make it a little more tolerable.

Edit: And at least one Graham I believe.

Pretty sure Cris Reynolds also

I respect his affiliation to Iu and the things he does for the community. But I don't like his music. Scarecrow, for me, is one of his few songs that are halfway decent. No I have not seen him live. Just not my cup of tea, that's all. And I do play guitar!!
