Who Will Be Next Year's Hartman or Zeisloft?

Recommended Posts

Who will be the biggest surprise next season?  Last year during the off season many were writing off Hartman due to his injury and lack of playing time the previous season and many complained about the recruitment of Zeisloft. Both were the subject of many threads predicting their transfer or lack of floor time.  Instead, both were huge surprises as not much was expected from them and they delivered beyond expectations. They were huge sparks for the team and positively contributed to many of our wins.  Who will be the next Hartman or Zeisloft?  Will it be one of the returning players or one of the newcomers?

I will go with Holt.  He may actually get to play his natural power forward position and the year of strength and conditioning will be huge. He showed a lot of potential and I can see him playing along side Bryant and swatting shots, rebounding, and scoring on the block. I predict he takes off this year.

Who do you got and why?

Holt or Hanner. Playing next to a true post-player will hopefully allow Hanner to consistently take advantage of weak-side/help defense opportunities and clean-up chances at the rim. Holt will be able to use the same advantage and, hopefully, outwork opposing 4s who can't handle him.

I agree with Holt, I think if he adds a few pounds (of muscle) to his frame in the off-season he could be a force.  The fact that he is from Western New York doesn't hurt either!

OG, just because no one is talking about him. Hartman came out of nowhere this past season, don't think Holt really fits into that category for this next year. Dude showed a good amount already.

Wish Max was still here, he would have been an easy pick

I was so impressed with zeisloft this year. Went from a mid major and totally different style of play and was very productive. Maybe he takes another step this year on d but unlikely.

Hanner could be a beast for us next year. This year he guarded the big men and was trying to take a lot of charges. Next year, Bryant can take the big men, so hanner can try blocking some shots. Plus, I thought hammers offensive game was pretty decent this year at times, and I liked his little jump hook shot. He will probably work hard this off season because he probably wants to go pro, and probably wants to start for iubb

I'll say OG because we all know Crean <3's wingys. I think OG could get some minutes behind Troy and Collin at the 4. It'll be fun to see what OG and Juwan have because, to me at least, they're complete mysteries.

Just curious how many 3 star freshman come in and are lock down defenders from day 1 in the big ten

Exactly. Let alone get to play. Really need to redshirt him. Benefits both.

I know that JBJ was expected to be great, and he was this year, mainly in the early part of the season. Teams really didn't let him shoot it much towards the end of the season. I think JBJ finds a few ways to get around that over the offseason, and develops ways to contribute even on an off night shooting or when the opposing team won't let him shoot. If he develops better dribble driving skills, then he will take a lot of attention from teams, as he could shoot and drive. He isn't really under the radar, but might be the most improved player/ most effective player for next year. Whenever JBJ was doing his thang, iubb was winning this past season.
