If by 'nearly' you mean he made a Final Four. They got massacred in that game though. Syracuse and that zone (why does this seem familiar? All well) amounted to a total blow out.

80 minutes away with one superstar is pretty close and I'd assume adding two more would only help. I could coach that team to a title and I don't believe in any play that's not Pick/Roll/Pop.

Seriously people! It's a "game" thread where you're supposed to follow the rules of the original posters question. It doesn't need to break down (this early) into a Crean bashing thread!

I say he stays, since the progression would show he's trending upward.

If IU wins a national title next season I am not sure how he would be gone.  Not only would he still have a significant buyout but we would have reached the goal we all want and in turn proved a lot of people wrong who said he wouldn't ever win a 6th banner at IU.

Like it or not a National Title all but guarantees Crean will be here at least for the rest of his contract.

What if we win the national title as a low seed? Like underachieve the whole year, but get hot kind of like MSU? How would that be received?

I'd be fine with that because it would show you they finally meshed as a team and improved.  Not the downhill slides we've seen over the past 3 or so years.

Even better than being a #1 seed!!!

Seriosuly for me that is what I truly want... I don't care about being great in November & December... I want to be good, better in January & February, Great in March, and THE BEST in April!!! It is all about progression and growth!

Crean couldn't get past the Sweet 16 with a soph Cody and a junior Oladipo - he is not going anywhere with two freshmen bigs.

Alaska - the traveling cat circus is always on the move. Tickets are Will Call only BUT they are half price once you find them.

I hate this logic.... Just because he didn't go past the sweet 16 with Vic and Cody doesn't mean he can't ever go further than that.... Having the most talented roster doesn't always equal success and many less talented teams have advanced further than their more talented counterparts

If he lands both and wins a title he stays. You don't get rid of a ncaa winning coach immediately after he wins it all. i would also think winning a title would help spur recruiting to a higher level. In turn we could potentially get that sustained success we all have been wanting.
If things drop down to where we have been the last 2 years after winning a title, then he needs to go and we need Bread Stevens. Ultimately, Crean isn't good enough to win a title and all this talk is just that talk. Fire him for Stevens anytime STEVENS is ready.

Mmmmm Bread Stevens, what kind of bread? Lol

@JeffRabjohns: RT @KevinMcNamara33: Brad Stevens on a move back to college: "I'll be in Boston."

We better win a championship because I guess he is not coming back to Indiana.

From what I've read he was asked about the Texas job rumors and he replied with "I'll be in boston"

Holding out a small glimmer of hope lol
