A lot of people refer to it as Pekin Eastern because Pekin High School became Eastern High school 

Here is a picture of my dads class ring from 1962 it was the last class that went through Pekin High School in 1963 it became Eastern High School.

Damn, that's legit. Who needs google when we have the knowledge of BTB?!

I just keep wondering what if Paul Scruggs had not left Southport would they be better or would they be the team that they are right now.

I just keep wondering what if Paul Scruggs had not left Southport would they be better or would they be the team that they are right now.

 

They would of won a few more games but they are pretty young and bad right now. I've watched a few of there games this year. I'm convinced that he saw how bad this team was going to be and that made his decision easier to go the prep route. Even with him they would of had no shot to get to state. It took a prayer to win their 4th game of the year the other night. Terre haute south gifted them a win. South was up 4 and southport hit a corner prayer 3 with .7 sec left. After a timeout South proceeds to throw ball out of bounds where no one touches the ball. Southport hits another prayer 3 to win it by 2 at the buzzer. Crazy game

I think they also lost a lot of good players who of course were seniors and I agree I think he knew that they weren't going to be good so I think that he made the right choice because he wanted to get more looks and I don't know if him staying he wouldn't be getting more looks from other schools.

He didn't need looks from other schools, he was a Xavier lean for a while regardless if he stayed or went the prep route he was going to Xavier

Just found out North Harrison girls are going up early Saturday to watch and support Eastern and win or lose Eastern is staying to support North Harrison. Awesome on both schools parts.

That's what small town Bball is all about! Insane that 2 schools that are 20 mins apart are in the state finals! I hope this is NH's year as well as Eastern's too. I still remember playing Eastern when I was at NH many moons ago.

Everyone has bad shooting nights! Wrong game to have one of course! The team is really young the core of the team has 1-3 years left in high school. Congrats brandct and to Pekin eastern! Only about a 20 min drive to Pekin so at least 1 championship comes to the area.
