Potential fallout from coaching change

Recommended Posts

If we don't do it now we never will, we will probably be top 25 next year and that will be good enough for some of our fans and admins who only care about having a little fun and rooting really hard, not winning, which is all I care about.
Crean will be a genius for taking a program that almost a decade ago had sanctions and by some divine intervention got them in the top 25, a truly super human coaching effort. Glass will give him an extension and I will run out of fuel for this battle and will be beaten into a submission of mediocrity.

Do it now!!!

X 1,000. Excellent post.

That's how I look at it. Is it right? Of course not, but student sections have said and done much worse.

Overall, when fans don't get what they feel they deserve, the cuts will become deeper and more personal until one of two things happen: The offending party, (Coach Crean) is released or resigns, OR, the team begins to give them reason to believe they've been wrong about the coach's abilities. My guess is, whether it's high schools kids being inventive at a ball game, or adults walking out early on a ball game, or obscene vulgarities and gestures are directed at the Crean family, things are going to get darker before they get lighter in Bloomington. Not condoning it, but simply stating my opinion on what's likely going to happen, given the current set of circumstances. If I were Tom Crean and my son had been assailed with derogatory comments at his ballgame over my position as head coach at IU, I'd be taking the first train out of town.

I was messing around on twitter and found something interesting. Info/sign-ups for Crean's summer basketball camps are nowhere to be found. The info usually comes out in February according to multiple tweeters.

Nice find. Makes sense not to take people for the camp only to have to tell them they can't come. Interesting...

What was that last part? What happened?

There's also no info for football camps, so they may just be late with info this year...

Unless this is semantics with a possible resign, he answers very certainly. Hmm

@dandakich: Nope "@bdcrow: @dandakich So is Tom Crean getting canned or no?”

I wouldnt pay any attention to what DD says in the matter either way. He has been all over the place pro Crean, anti Crean, he might get fired, he wont get fired, the program is good, the program is bad ect.. not very credible IMO.

That's past the line but what do you expect from high school kids?

This is the type of thing I was talking about when I said it will continue to get ugly. Nobody likes it but its the type of thing that happens in these big time coaching gigs. Gotta move on for the sake of your family.

. You know just as well as I do that many students at the game have their parents there as well. I'd take my kid to the woodshed in front of God and everybody if I witnessed that garbage. Maybe that's just me. Totally makes the rumors that Joani wants out have strong legs.
