If you say it doesn't matter what the fans think, And as you have said above, it will ultimately end up his decision & there is nothing we can do about it... That's sounds like a totalitarian set up.

If that's the case, the AD spot of power needs to be divided among many people who will listen to the fans. "It's Indiana" right?

Fans are bipolar. Don't see the whole picture of what the AD has to accomplish. There are ways of sending your feelings to him. Same as your boss at your job. Does your boss listen to and implement everything a customer wants if the person in question still brings in profit and donations?

if 16,500 + employees wanted a change of management, I'd like to believe that boss would accept their opinion.

I am sure that I am a part of a minority when I say I did NOT graduate or attend IU, so I could honestly care less about the Soccer or Volleyball teams.

I grew up watching and rooting for IU Basketball way back when I was 5 years old and only had 4 channels. I would get to watch IU Basketball games and Notre Dame football games. I have heard from IU grads before that I am the worst kind of IU fan (even though I probably donate as much if not more to the Varsity Club), but this is how I was raised and it doesn't make me any less of a (IU Basketball) fan than any alumni.

But strictly speaking from my point of view. It is 100% about what Glass does for the Basketball program. Like I said I am probably a minority, but just wanted to show how many different points of view are out there.

This is fair. Nothing wrong with it. As far as being alumni this is why I may see it from a different perspective. I see the different programs and additions generated from this AD that wasn't there before. I see him trying to better the football team. I see the baseball team doing what no team in the B1G has done in 30 years. I don't think either side is wrong. Just perspective. Tom Crean should be gone IMO, but Glass has done a great job for what he was hired to do.

glass has done well, yes. But, it's Indiana & he has to realize we want/deserve a top 10 program. That is our main focus as should be his.
His thoughts of betterment should go;
1) basketball
2) basketball
3) basketball
4) everything else.

That is what we are known for.

Blue bloods like UK, KU, UNC.... You can see their football teams struggle, a lot. But, who cares? They're succesful at basketball.

In governemnt terms, if 95% of America wanted a change of president (not saying we don't) and had a justified reason to do so, would an impeachment not take place?

There would have to be proof to peruse impeachment charges.

Definitely, I am glad you saw my post as just my point of view and I can definitely see things from your prospective. This is pretty much why I didn't really answer the question on Glass himself, because I am only judging him off 1 aspect or 1 sport that he is responsible for. I have no plans to cancel my Varsity Club donation, but if Crean were here beyond 2016 then I might seriously think about it. Not sure how much $500 a year is going to cut into their pocket, but it would be me voicing my opinion. While simultaneously losing my priority seating

Where is money made? UNC actually has a good football program as does KU. UK gets a ton of money from being in the SEC.

Said tonight that Crean deserves to stay, so basically my thoughts are ok you can leave with him then.

Yes, it doesn't sound like Glass is looking at the possibility of a replacement. That could just be a public statement and it could change at the end of the year. $10 or $12 million is a lot of money to write off and not take some heat. Glass and Crean's future were locked together when the extension was signed. If Crean is fired, it looks like Glass would have to go as well.

I would be curious if the Trustees share Glass' views. Could they step in if Glass does not?  At that point would they fire both of them?  The debate loses strength if we beat MSU and one or two games in the Big 10 tournament. I hope we make the tournament. It would still not change my view that we need to make a change.

proof; missing tourney last year. Fizzing out at the end of the #1 season. Not making the tourney this year.

I see your point now and I guess in some crazy world it qualifies as impeachable.

check again Kansas has had 10 wins in 5 seasons.
UK hasn't been above .500 in a long long time
UNC hovers .500 in a great ACC

Come on dude, know what you're talking about.

Board of Trustees meet April 16 in Btown. Show up and let them know what you think. I'd be there, but pretty sure Shoulders still has a restraining order in effect on me.

NBA season ends April 16.... At least that's what I saw further up on the board :)

New Glass comments to ESPN

A few that I found interesting.

"I'm bullish on Tom," Glass told ESPN. "He's done a really good job with these guys. It's ridiculous to say that someone is coaching for his job for one game and that it would be up or down in one game."

Glass said he met with Crean on Wednesday and reassured him about his job security.

"He's a great coach," Glass said. "He has my full support. I have a great deal of confidence in Tom's body of work. This team overachieved early and then hit a tough patch."

"There is a sense that Tom is only keeping his job because of the buyout," Glass said. "And while that's a big number and a significant amount of money, that's not what is keeping him in the job. I think he needs to be the coach ... I want him to be the coach here."

"The rise and fortunes of Indiana (athletics) is with Indiana basketball," Glass said. "Everybody thinks the guy with the clipboard, the next guy, can be better. But starting over is overrated. You can't be willy-nilly about it."
