Alford Bailey Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 OK, I havent paid much attention to IU football since Anthony Thompson. Is #9 class in the B1G a good thing?? Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 yep Alford. out of #14 it's pretty good for IUFB. #50 in the country too. 5-10 all pretty close really with mostly 3 stars. Naturalhoosier, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and Alford Bailey 3 Quote
ThompsonHoosier Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 So is the coaching staff still trying to fill that one last spot? Quote
HoosierReb01 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 So is the coaching staff still trying to fill that one last spot? I'm betting they keep their eyes open for someone who would fill the spot, but I doubt that they just go get a warm body. Quote
LIHoosier Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 24/7 has us currently at #51 overall and #9 in the B1G. For comparison's sake, the 2014 class finished #48 overall #9 in the B1G. This is weird. Scout has IU ranked 13th in the B1G while Rivals has our class 7th. Can someone explain the large discrepancy to me, I don't follow FB recruiting as much as hoops. http://btn.com/2015/02/04/national-signing-day-urban-meyer-ohio-state-sign-big-tens-top-class/ Rankings are about halfway down the page. jmsgws Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Recruiting rankings are really just guesses, but they are an indicator of a program's strength. Natty, brought up the 2/47 rankings as having us 9th in the B1G. ESPN says we are 6th in the conference, Rivals has us 7th, Scout is the outlier, and they have us as 13th WTF!! So I think all 2/47 did was let the other services do the work, and take the average!! LIHoosier 1 Quote

Probably incorporates average from others as well as their own prospect ratings/rankings. Quote
jmsgws Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I guess they haven't updated thier web page, yet, because I got it from there. Quote

I just wondered if one site or the other missed a couple guys or assumed that some schools had certain guys and didn't reflect any changes. Nonetheless, Purdon't is in the cellar. :120: Quote
johnsoniu Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Scout is garbage, has been for a few years. Rivals is pretty much the standard among CFB junkies, but 24/7 is solid. ESPN is constantly accused of playing favorites, and generally behave as if that's the case. lol mamasa, Naturalhoosier, ccgeneral and 3 others 6 Quote
johnsoniu Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Any way you slice it, middle of the pack in the B1G and top 50 class nationally is pretty solid for a program with 1 bowl appearance in 20 years. Add in Howard and Hawkins, who don't count towards the rankings, and I'm a happy happy camper. Time to translate these success's to W's. Another thought on Howard coming in at RB along with Redding returning. Sure CKW came in with the QB guru rep, but his line of RBs now consists of Adrian Peterson, Demarco Murray, and Tevin. Crimson and Cream Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Peegs is reporting a big time 2016 prospect is visiting Sunday for the IUFB Junior Day. It's on the premium board though, so I can't see who. Anybody have any details. mamasa and Naturalhoosier 2 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 FWIW...ESPN ranked us 11th in the B1G and gave us a "C" for our class. Quote
lucel15 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 FWIW...ESPN ranked us 11th in the B1G and gave us a "C" for our class. ESPN is so biased lol it makes me chuckle Naturalhoosier 1 Quote

Miller'sTheMan Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Really happy with this class, got some receivers who can come in and contribute right away, especially Westbrook who I think will be a stud and obviously Jordan Howard to replace Coleman. Quote
